Hi Everyone, This video gives you some tips on how I passed my test the first time. I may say that I am not a perfect skilled driver, but I would like to share the experience and the knowledge that I know, which have helped me passed the test smoothly. I did pass on my first attempt today at Morrinsville. I think routes are almost same with a bit of changes. The officer was polite and gave me one feed back to improve on. This video definitely helped. Thanks!
For anyone who might not exactly know what to look for by "checking your mirrors," it's any road hazard such as cars, bikes, taking note of distances etc. Checking mirrors before turning helps you spot any biker, biker, pedestrian or any other road vehicle. If you have just turned, it's good to check the rear view mirror to watch those behind you. even glancing at your side mirrors to look at the lanes behind you as well as those around you is a good precaution as well, if you need to make a lane change at some point. Changing speed is a good reason to check your rear view mirror, to see if those behind are reacting to your change in speed. This could be a change in road speed/conditions, coming to a stop or slowing down for that driver that pulled out in front of you. Glancing at your mirrors regularly is a great habit to pick up on, as this can give you early warnings of hazards behind and around you, and quite often you'll just miss someone pulling out and you'll never notice them until you look again. This is also why you need to check 1-3 times left and right before going through a intersection, because that single check doesn't account for anything you might have missed during the time of looking away.
Hey there, I'm close to applying my full licence and I'm already had my restricted for 18 months. Need to get a lot of practice to get confident on driving
The most challenging test route i had was at westgate auckland, most cars parked on either side of route, signal after signals, heavy traffic, streets after streets, Nightmare...
I passed my full 3 days ago and the test was about 15 mins of just driving and I wasn't asked any hazards. Ez pass but kinda worried whether I should confident in it 🥴
I think it depends on the officer. I didn't get asked but some of my friends they get asked about hazards. So I would say to be prepared for that. Good luck for your test !
I assume you are asking about the driving speed during a full licence test. You can drive up to 50 km per hour for most roads during the test (when there is no speed sign). It is not a problem when you go slower than the limit, but not otherwise. I hope I have answered your question. Good luck to you!
A shoulder check is a quick turn of the head, either left or right, to look out your side window. Shoulder checking (sometimes called a head check) is an important way to see what’s in your blind spots. Hope this explanation helps. Good luck on your test day!
Not sure why you didn't see the car was actually did stop for awhile before turning, maybe the camera's angle problem. Anyway, congrats as you know to distinguish how is a complete stop at stop sign. Good luck on your test day 😊
