Abortions after 21 weeks -- which is just over halfway through an average pregnancy -- are around or just less than 1% of the abortions that have been given in the US during the time Roe Vs Wade was law for the US. This fever dream of Republicans who lie about Democrats wanting women to be able to have abortions up to the moment of giving birth. There has never been a legally practising doctor in the US who would agree to that. This state law in Texas is solely to threaten doctors and pregnant women into obedience of a theocratic cult hoping to seize control in November of all the states. It must be denied.

We are never all going to believe the same or even understand fully but we can have some compassion and empathy for those in real life threatening kinds of crisis.

About 30yrs ago, my Brother's first child died 28 hours after birth. They found out during 1st trimester, the baby had spina bifida with the spine protruding between shoulder blade, also multiple holes in his heart and a couple other minor issues. There was a scheduled C-section in Boston with various teams there to do heart surgery immediately. Then at least 4-5 surgeries would be needed. After he was born, they discovered he had no brain stem, which means no thinking or breathing etc.
My Brother lives in NH and pre-covid attended a hearing at their State Capital to discuss abortion laws. He retold his story, stating that with medical advances the lack of brain stem would have been discovered. He told them honestly he wasn't sure what their decision would have been during the first trimester, but knowing their child had no chance of living he thought abortion would have been seriously considered.
He was the only male to speak during 3 days of public hearings. The women who spoke all talked to him about how sad his story was and they appreciated his sharing. NH at that time decided to keep the laws the same.

From what I know of Ryan, through his RUclips channel, he loves his family above all, he is a very proud Christian father who also cares quite deeply about our second amendment rights. They seem like a very fun bunch, responsibly enjoying the sport of firearms. He’s done an excellent job being proud of his religion without ever using his platform for any political/religious commingling. I’ve liked his content for a while now, despite our differences on politics and religion, because he’s respectful and communicates well without any tension.
I feel like his genuine shock that the law is this bad, and the dem talking points are actually not exaggerating the topic on abortion rights, will do more for abortion rights than anything else could right now… Its too tragic to talk about as having “been gods plan” I think it’s cruel to reduce tragedy to that, but it certainly is a coincidence that abortion rights was desperate for in that demographic… wishing for peace to embrace his whole family

Agreed, it should not be considered the same as an abortion. Call it post miscarriage care, or something like that. In these cases there is no live fetus, it's already gone!

I get what you're saying, but the circumstances under which a d&c is performed really should matter. How the procedure is used should matter because there's multiple reasons to perform one. If you're doing a d&c because of a miscarriage, it's not an abortion because the human body has already aborted the fetus. Pregnancy is the active development of a fetus. Miscarry and the pregnancy is no longer active. Life is terminated. If you have a softball sized cervical cyst and you're not pregnant, it's not an abortion. If you just have excessive tissue buildup on the uterus and you're not pregnant, it's not an abortion. It is the same procedure. But Texas is basically labeling ALL D&C's as abortions. Regardless of why the procedure is used. THAT'S the problem.
And having read the Texas law itself, I'm at least partially convinced that Texas lawyers themselves can't even understand it enough to enforce it properly. And they don't care. They are literally choosing to be ignorant. The law reads like a really bad English paper and my English teacher would pull her hair out. I can understand most of it and im not a law student. But it is SO badly written that Texas needs a "Texas Law for Dummies" book. It's actually pretty sad how bad it is. But that's what you get when you spend 50+ years squashing your educational system.
My inital thinking was that in the event of a miscarriage to just label the procedure as surgical debridement. And yes, I know that won't work.

Yep, I see and hear a lot of women speaking about their suffering ordeals because of abortion laws but *WHERE ARE THE MEN* is what I don't understand.
