What do you think of the Space Ace Mini Replicade Arcade from New Wave Toys? Let me know below!
The perfect companion to Dragon's Lair. If they do Dragon's Lair II: Time Warp with the receding marquee and the big-belly base, I'll be in heaven.
@@charlestonjew7587 ooh now your talking!
Man I hope this company is around for quite awhile. Really never let down by their stuff. Mine arrives Friday…got the Cinematronics version as I wanted variety.
Your version looks totally rad as well Dubs!
Thanks Nooner! Hope you like yours!
Same, I also pre-ordered the dedicated cab. The only complaint I have is the artwork on the marquee and control board isn't as rich and crisp as the conversion kit cab. You'll notice the background on the marquee is white, making it look washed out compared to the blue background on the conversion kit marquee. Still, the cab design is unique and it still plays and sounds every bit as good.
I will say these minis are amazing. Im old now like Snape. However I remember our mini Coleco options early 80s..Man these are awesome!
I adore them ❤
@@PDubsArcadeLoft Agreed this is an amazing product that has all the accurate details. Love it!
PDubs...you can plug this into your TV with HDMI and controllers via USB? Win Win!
That’s weird that you said that because I still have my coleco galaxian and 3 New wave toys arcade games. I also bought a quarter arcade Digdug.
@@The_Rifster Thats awesome you still have your Coleco Galaxian! I couldn't believe my friend in grade school won that Donkey Kong off the cereal box. I had been trying to get that Coleco forever!
I get excited when I see that Replicade box! I have the Q*Bert and Food Fight. I love both!
Excellent!
Good looking machine. I only have the New Wave QBert machine and that's good enough for me. But this looks awesome for anyone who loves this game.
That new wave Q*bert is phenomenal
Thanks for this my friend. Great review! I am so in love with these products!
Thank you
I get mine today. Can’t wait.
Enjoy my dude!!!
Great review, just picked up both second hand for close to retail ($175 a piece) (got lucky as these usually go for much more now) Thanks again for the review mine should arrive today.
Nice man enjoy!
Looking like lots of fun!
Thank you
PDubs,
Yeah, really excited about getting mine. This is the first time I ordered both variants of one of their cabs. One quick correction though. The conversion kit version you and I ordered only comes in red t-molding trim. I actually wanted a black trim, because the Dragon's Lair Replicade I have from New Wave Toys first run has a black trim, but yeah, only red trim available for Space Ace conversion. Still, I am getting the other cabinet version and that one does come with black trim.
New Wave Toys ROCKS!
vgv
The black one does look super cool but I wanted them to match
PDubs,
I think that getting both cabinets with the red trim will look cool. Like you, I LOVE to display these and I think getting that matching set will make them stand out beautifully. Great choice!
vgv
PDubs,
Just a quick one. I just got my red t-molding version of New Wave Toys Space Ace to put on top of my iiRcade Space Ace, and iiRcade's machine also has red trim! I now match as well! What a cool turn of events!
Have a great one!
vgv
Lol boom! Always nice to match!
This better be good..I'm interrupting Blue Oyster Cult in the kitchen while cooking Lemon chicken and playing clips of Serge Achmed from Beverly Hills Cop II
4:02 / 7:38
French Encounter of the Serge Kind feat. Axel Fole
Oh Sh*t Daphney stickers...almost a glimpse of her panties...damn SOOO close
Lol hope you enjoy the video!
@@PDubsArcadeLoft Always PDubs! Keep going!
Serge Achmed could have been my brother...all day at High School Serge Comments
Great job as always dubzzzzzzzzzzz
Is dragons lair 2 right around the corner?
Hope so!
Hopefully! But "Replicading" that Leland Corp. cabinet for that is gonna prove quite the task!! And with any luck, a "Sea Beast" prototype after that (but I digress on a very divergent tangent!) 😉
Fun review and always more of the same. You're in Arizona and I'm in Pennsylvania. You receive yours while mine is in the UPS ecosystem traveling across the country.
I've enjoyed every game. I'm with your 90/10 rule as well. I wish New Wave would support the 90/10 rule by making a lucite cover for these machines that lets me display them with solid dust prevention.
Dust sucks! Lol
Smokin ❤
Lol 🔥
@@PDubsArcadeLoft My friend in the early 80s won the Coleco Mini Donkey Kong from a cereal box in the very early 80s. I had him over for a sleepover immediately. We played that thing all night. Man it was like having Donkey Kong in your hands until I see these replicas!
Got mine the other day to add to my growing collection. I fully agree Pdubs, It's an awesome machine. As always, Newwave hits it out of the park. Too bad I suck at the game. Ha! 😉😝
Lol unlimited quarters for practice baby!
That "scuffed" surface on your miniature LaserDisc is indeed a bit of protective film. You won't see the proper "rainbow" effect on that side of the disc if you don't peel it off. The same was true of the Dragon's Lair version so go ahead and peel that one off too.
Also, it looks like the Daphne decal only ships with the Conversion model-- I got the Dedicated version, with no decal. Which makes sense since this cabinet is supposed to represent a former Dragon's Lair unit.
rock and roll my dude!
The original Space Ace and Dragon's Lair LaserDiscs were shiny only on the recorded side that's face-down when running in the player. The other side is dull. That sticker gives it the "dull" effect on one side, just like the original.
@@kennethbloch Good detail to know. But with the sticker removed, that side becomes the shinier one, revealing a pronounced iridescent 'rainbow ' effect.
These are awesome. What machine was to the right? I thought I had them all? Great stuff!
Missile Command
@@PDubsArcadeLoft oh sweet I have both Mac’s but I have this thing where I don’t open them! OCD for sure!
I don’t really see the point of these I mean the screen is so small… not to mention you will probably get cramped fingers trying to play… but hey I guess if you want a 100 dollar paperweight to sit on a shelf and collect dust more power to ya…
I can see that POV, but I own three of these and they’re really awesome reproductions. I’m also a child of the 80s who has a lot of fond memories of actually playing a lot of these games on their full sized versions. These also have HDMI ports, so you can actually play them on a larger screen. I love my mini cabs because they bring me back to my childhood when I look at them. Brings me happiness. Simple as that.
To each his own my dude - for me these are premium Collector Items that are fully functional but not something for every day gaming
Your money!
Your life!
Your way!
Enjoy
These are brilliant to look at and very fun to play even at this scale.
They are far from a ‘paperweight’ 😂
👍👍🤙
👊😎
I just do not get these micro systems, at all. Why? They're practically unplayable with that small of a screen.
All good man appreciate the opinion!
But that’s not true!
I play Dragons Lair with no difficulty even at that scale and I have large hands.
I love how little space these take up and admire the engineering that went into making these replicas at this size
Considering they sell table top versions that are playable for about half as much, it’s a pass for me.
Who is seriously going to play this? I’d rather have a cheap version with looped video to give the illusion.
Believe it or not these are actually very fun to play despite the for factor.
Space for collectibles is not infinite some of us love having lots of these arcades at this scale
