Fun fact: The school singing the Hogwarts anthem with Dumbledore displaying the lyrics was in the first book but never done again afterwards. None of the schools in book 4 had any special performances. They just came in and sat down.
I might just be getting mandala’d, but I could’ve sworn I watched this scene during the movie? Like, I specifically remember also thinking “Wow, Hogwarts students are just… kids. Straight up elementary school little dweebs. I wish they’d continued to allow me to forget that.”
You’re in the wrong school. Then again, I’m starting to understand why Voldemort wants to take over Hogwarts: he wants to make it adventurous and exciting than all other schools.
Please, Voldemort has absolutely NO idea what he wants to do, beyond simply eradicating mudbloods. People like him never do, because the journey is more fun than the destination.
I always thought this was really sweet. It was described in the books how every student just came together to sing the song they all knew so well. And I think Fred and George sang it super slowly as a ballad and dumbledore patiently waited for them to finish, looking as if he enjoyed it thoroughly or like it was the best music he ever heard or something like that.
The power of Hogwarts is that it can force their students to submit themselves to singing this song and smile while doing so. No other school comes close to the Imperio curse with mere teaching

Jep, I felt that. What kills me is that the first scene in Hogwarts in Harry Potter 3 shows a choir singing. You'd think they would put them on for a performance instead of the entire school making an unrehearsed performance. (For context: The choir at the beginning of 3 was not in the books, nor was Durmstrang and Beauxbatons putting on a performance in 4. They just entered the hall and sat down. They big entrace being their mode of transportation, a large flying chariot with elephant sized flying horses and a ship that can traverse waters respectively [In the books, those entraces were described with a large sense of aw, whereas they quickly breezed through them in the films] But, the entire schools singing the Hogwarts song was in the first book.)
It is actually the best demonstration of power!!!! Using the ELDER WAND for karaoke nights. No school can top that. The students don't understand it, but the other headmasters do.

At least swipe the East German national anthem. Apparently most of the wizarding world doesn't pay attention to the muggle world, so they probably wouldn't even know.
What's funny is that most of the hogwarts students were fully happy to sing such a dorky song even after those crazy performances. it's kinda sweet how much they like their school
In the book I remeber they sing it after the feast or something.
I highly suspicious Dumbledore put some spell on them.
it wasnt in the book at all. Their only entrance was arriving
@@taekait it was in the books
@@taekait
In CoF book they sing the song in the start-of-schoolyear feast, way before the other schools' students arrive for the Triwiz Tournament. In the movie the song is just all out-of-place...

Honestly it’s even funnier when you remember in the books that there was no set tune for the school song. They were told to “pick their favorite tune” and just go for it. In book 1 everyone finishes at different times and Fred and George picked a funeral dirge and finished last while Dumbledore just bops along with them until the end
The best part is that in the book everyone sang at their own pace and tune, so it was just a hubbub
You wouldn't know a hubbub if it slapped you across the face with its noodly appendages!
@@coreymiller6717 but ofc the hogwarts song was beautiful and better than any ballet or karate display

Harry shoulda busted out a patronus, flex on them other schools
There was no dementor present
@travjt2 there doesnt have to be. In the book, a fully manifested patronus is considered a high achievement. One his owl proctor asked him to demonstrate for a bonus point
@@travjt2there wasn’t in the whole training for dumbledores army scenes either but they still had patronus’
i didn’t notice it before but they didn’t even memorize the lyrics, so it was basically karaoke? 😭
Fun fact:
The school singing the Hogwarts anthem with Dumbledore displaying the lyrics was in the first book but never done again afterwards. None of the schools in book 4 had any special performances. They just came in and sat down.
Omg I love this why is it so perfect. I love anything where it zooms in on Harry’s absent face and makes him look mega derp
That “Hoggy Hoggy Hogwarts” just hits different 😔

As a choir member, you underestimate how truly difficult it is.
It sounds like they are singing in a round too (maybe by house?)!
@@madeleinebrandenburg401Man that would make it even more difficult
I recall that the books stated that everyone pretty much sung in whatever way they wanted so it likely sounded terrible.
That secondhand embarrassment is so relatable at family cook-outs with the drunk uncle.

The fact that I’d just be dying of embarrassment on the verge of tears 💀
Draco was doing exactly that in the deleted scenes
I always thought this was really sweet. It was described in the books how every student just came together to sing the song they all knew so well. And I think Fred and George sang it super slowly as a ballad and dumbledore patiently waited for them to finish, looking as if he enjoyed it thoroughly or like it was the best music he ever heard or something like that.
The power of Hogwarts is that it can force their students to submit themselves to singing this song and smile while doing so. No other school comes close to the Imperio curse with mere teaching
My reaction to when I saw this scene the first time 🤣
Dumbldore was watching the drumstrang guy flip across the floor like: “chill bro it’s not that deep”
“What is Harry Potter doing? No not the dancing Harry” I’m dead 😂

The urge to sink to the ground and never come out is strong watching this, especially when they start to show reactions from the other school (Dumbls even hyped it up so much🙈)
And can we talk about how they made it seem like Hogwarts is the only school to go co-ed? It's annoying and undermines Fleur being chosen the only woman to be in the tri-wizard tournament.
I mean in the books they’re all co-ed, but you know. They also don’t dance.
Right? They made Durmstrang the typical cold-war Russian antagonist (even though I don’t think they’re Russian, the stereotype fits) and basically said that the only woman chosen was chosen because there were only women to chose from
Fleur was done even dirtier than Ginny in the movies

Should have just called it Sakura Gakkou Tokoro. They have an obsession with Sakura so it really wouldnt be that bad

She was going to be the bait in the lake for Fleur without knowing. Don't trust teachers
I'm guessing the schools probably brought their best champion candidates but beuxbatons let them bring a plus one or some shit
The books are different. Theres boys in beauxbatons for one thing. Just the girls are heavily showcased because Harry gets super focused on Fleurs surroundings
in this movie you have to be 17 to participate in the goblet of fire tournament harry only gets in because “professor moody” put his name in there

The “what is Harry Potter doing” killed me ☠️
Hogwarts should have had Fred and George fly in with fireworks! 🎉
I love the squeaking of the feet during the performances
The funniest thing about the school anthem to me is that since each student sings it in whatever tune they want, Fred and George sing it like a slow funeral dirge, so they're the last ones singing for a looooong time after everyone else has finished their lyrics 😆
