- People from Africa and the Middle East often find it difficult to settle in Poland and become part of the community.
Poland has also accepted more than one million Ukrainian refugees, but many have found their paths to acceptance easier, leading to accusations of racism and xenophobia.
The UN has urged Poland to end the "very different" treatment of Ukrainian and non-Ukrainian refugees.
Al Jazeera’s Osama Bin Javaid reports from Warsaw, Poland.

I am from Poland, and some time ago, a man of Arab origin deliberately bumped into me in the subway - he was looking for a conflict, which is why I am not in favor of introducing culturally foreign people to Poland. The vast majority of them are young men who later form gangs, as in many European cities. This headline is ridiculous. The governments of Ukraine and Poland negotiated an agreement which provided temporary refugees status inPoland for citizens of Ukraine. The people of Poland, on a voluntary basis, opened their homes to Ukrainian women, children and infirm who were fleeing the bombs being dropped on their country by Russia. If the countries in Africa and the Middle East do not provide temporary assistance to their neighbors when they neighbors are in need, one must conclude there is a reason why. Perhaps they need to work on their relationship.

Shame that every time I watch any of Al Jazeera's reports, they are very partial, biased and prejudiced, pointing fingers at more homogenous, Christian countries and societies. It stems from fundamental lack of insight and understanding of Polish approach to the matter of a massive, invasive influx of immigration, roots of of the issues, and a sense of responsibility to protect their own country and people. They can't elect their own leaders because the western governments hold africans at gunpoint to impose traitors on them as leaders. Do you know what the western (EU & USA) military bases stationed all over Africa are used for? fighting terrorists? The US and European countries are like sheep in comparison. My grandma was born in Poland, and though I don’t speak the language and have never been there I am proud of my Polish side.

Two of my grandparents were born in Poland, they moved legally to the US a decade prior to WW1. At that time, the US wanted more people, as the US was rapidly growing, and as along as someone could read, write, add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers, they would find work. My grandparents had been studying the English language prior to coming, and they continued to learn after purchasing tickets for boat passage, and arriving in the US. They were not wealthy people when they left Poland, but were young and willing to work at any job available. All of their children became professionals and business owners. The people coming illegally into countries today do not seem to be eager to work, but they are eager to collect benefits and harrass the local population.

A lot of the black people that come to Poland legally to start businesses and study at our Universities are doing better than most Poles and feel safer than they do in the UK or USA. Racism exists everywhere. There are cases where as a white person, you will not be allowed to board a bus. I've seen this personally in Cuba and despite this it's a very lovely country.
Ukrainians are our slavic neighbours and therefore are treated as our honorary guests while their fighting hard for their freedom every day, something Poland can also historicaly relate to.
We never colonised Africa or participated in the slave trade unlike certain countries. Go live in the UK France or other countries that have exploited your people if you are fleeing war and poverty. You are also more than welcome to come to Poland legally.
