    I was so shocked when I heard Gary and Judy attempted to block Artimus from making this film a few years ago. In Oct 2018 the Court of Appeals made the right decision allowing Artimus to tell HIS story from HIS point of view. Shame on Gary and Judy for not showing Artimus some love and supporting him. I plan on supporting Artimus by buying a ticket for the film.

    Way to go, Artie! I am so thankful you were able to get this done during your lifetime! I know how much you loved Ronnie and that love got you through all of this. There are fans younger and older who to this day still wonder how this unthinkable tragedy could have happened. Your film may help them understand more fully what happened to THE Lynyrd Skynyrd band. And of course what a great tribute to Ronnie. I can still see him in my mind's eye, this time for you, winking and saying, "I think you'll do just fine!" Thank you and much love. Please stay safe from the COVID19 virus.

    This is a wonderful retrospect of Artimus Pyle's story, A guy that fought the odds and has prevailed many times Over. He is a good man with an Incredible life story that I'm glad the powers that be let come to fruition. This story needs to be heard. Thank you Neil Turbin for this insightful Video. @@OwnMySunrise I agree 100% one of the rescuers said the plot was still in the cockpit but in the movie he's in a tree the same rescuer who pulled Cassie Gary, Allen Steve and Ronnie out of the plane said that. But in this movie they are all laying outside of the plane. Back in 1989 Artemis said in a interview he was never shot ever since people started to say he was shot that's when he started to say he was shot. I don't believe anything he said since he was fired from Skynyrd,but if you ask him he'll say he quit the band. Maybe in another 40 years Artemis will say johnny mote shot his head off and he picked it up and ran to washington and asked President Carter to get the Navy Seals to help them. Look up Gene Odom's interviews he's who I believe when it comes to what happened that day.

    Both Gary Rossington and Judy Van Zant only think about money and they both have shown that many, many time. Artimus Pyle genuinely respected Ronnie Van Zant and it shows whenever he talks about Ronnie.

    • @mikemitchell2347
      @mikemitchell2347 4 года назад +11

      Yes, Artimus has a lot of respect for Ronnie, I meet him not long ago in a story parking lot and the guy was so nice and talked so much about Ronnie. We must have been in that lot for 30 mins and he spoke well of the band and how lucky he was to be a part of it. It was said, after the crash that money was all Gary and Judy cared about. This must be true today, the band that is on tour now is Not Lynyrd Skynyrd but a cover band with Gary as a guest and you know who is getting a lot of money from that.

    • @1959blantz
      @1959blantz 4 года назад +13

      Gary is all about the money and nothing else. I remember seeing an interview with Gene Odom (Ronnie's best friend and band security) Gene said Ronnie had told him told him to never trust Gary, Gary would stab him in the Back given the chance. He had also told him that after the tour he was going to divorce Judy. It's a shame that these two Leeches have control of everything associated with LS. Artimus is the ONLY surviving Band member that has any respect for the legacy of Ronnie and LS.

    • @1959blantz
      @1959blantz 4 года назад +4

      @HaveMercyMissPercy We'll never know what route the band would have taken had the plane crash never happened. I wonder if Steve Gaines would have eventually replaced Gary. Steve's playing ability was much better than Gary's and he could also sing. The song "You Got That Right" on the Street Survivors album was one of the best songs on the album thanks to Steve's playing and vocals. From everything I've heard Steve was a truly good person that never had a bad word to say about anyone.

    Pyle and their piano tuner, who was with him and survived because he switched seats with Cassie over the wing, went for help. Guns were drawn on them as they were bloodied and there was a prison nearby. They convinced the folks there was a crash and they were a band. Then they drove in the back of their truck to a phone, as they did not have one, to get help. That is fact. Piano tuner's girlfriend is my close friend. Cheers.

    I'm not happy with Lynyrd Skynyrd after plane crash. I liked Rossington Collins band after crash. I'm in the process of buying Alan Collins band album. I love Lynyrd Skynyrd 1973-1977. At age 17 10 month's old I bought Skynyrd's 1974 vinyl record "Second Helping" soon after release. I LOVE!!!!! song "Workin For MCA" Song "Needle And The Spoon" I LOVE also! Love whole album is GREAT! I also LOVE "Swamp Music" 1974 was HUGE absorption of mostly ROCK music for me. Was at two of their concerts back then. One was at New York City Central Park and another concert at another venue in New York. Don't remember which one. Thing is though I love the band. I'm not sure when I realized there was a plane crash. Reason being because first off I didn't come from family with $$. I was working at dead end hamburger place losing my mind, So 1975 and 1976 I was mentally gone. Then in 1977 cobwebs are clearing and I buy 8 track tape of "Street Survivor" That album was released three days prior to tragic plane crash. I doubt I bought it when it was released, though you never know. Whenever I bought it I really don't think I was aware of plane crash. Even now thinking back. If I did I would have some level of awareness. So I have no idea when I actually found out about plane crash. Let's face back then there was no information highway. My family life was restricted in a sense. So with this movie I will definitely check it out! However I'm a Queen fan also and I could not go to movie to see their movie. I saw it when it was released on DVD. I didn't like how Freddy and the band were portrayed. I have to say I love all of you. Gary and Artimus I Love you guys! And "that's for sure" I think that lyric is in "Gimme Three Steps" Another GREAT! song! But I absolutely am very sad and disappointed how all of you have been to each other over the years. Look......don't take this personal....but did any of you seek professional help related to trauma? I f you did individually that's good. But collectively? Together. I mean the abruptness.of it! Shock! plane crash and aftermath. Recovery. Not to mention alcohol and drug use any of you were involved in prior or after crash. All of you needed heavy duty trauma therapy. Individually good if any of you did, But sounds to me presently in my opinion all of you seeking professional help together may benefit all of you. I'm presently involved with some people dealing with how important it is to forgive and release resentment. And honestly I cannot listen to any Lynyrd Skynyrd but 1973-1977. I do consider the band that's been carrying the name is a TRIBUTE BAND and shouldn't have been allowed to use Lynyrd Skynyrd .

    The movie was OK at best. The acting was decent, but there were things that take you out of the moment. Like the MODERN HSS Mexican Fender Stratocaster, the MODERN Taylor acoustic/electric, the performance of Call Me the Breeze not sounding like Ronnie was understandable but the horrible lip synching? The movie is OK but it leaves a lot to be desired.

    Artimus is entitled to tell his story but not at the expense of making things up. Almost every account I have heard Ronnie was sleeping and not awake during the crash or coherent of what was going on. So the movie is not accurate everywhere it could be as claimed. I would be upset if my husbands death was not portrayed correctly. Just saying. Not saying Judy is blameless in anything. IMHO she should have butted out and let the guys do what they wanted to do at the start. There is a lot of bad blood and bad feelings and I don't think this movie helped. I find this a shame because I loved Skynard and saw them in the day.

    RVZ was asleep on floor, did not get up, walk back to Artimus, sgake his hand & say Love you brother. All in Artimus mind.
    Artimus was never shot.
    He, Ken Peden & Marc frank are the 3 that walked out to get help.
    Johnny Mote fired a warning shot, didn't shoot Artimus in the arm, has been debunked.
    NOW, recent interview he says he alone went for help, made up a bunch of BS abt a rattlesnake & tellin it, he would bite it's head of. Come on people! It is all done to make Artimus the big hero.
    Why is he now claimimg Ken &Marc were not there? All reports stated 3 aurvivors walked out to get help.
    Why do you think Gary & Judy wanted to keep him from making the movie, cause it was a bunch of lies. He knew RVZ a few yrs. Gary, Ronnie & Allen grew up together, RVZ was a brother, a father figure & mentor to them both. Gary's dad died when he was young & Allen's parents got divorced & Allen hardly ever saw his dad til the checks started coming in.
    Artimus wants people to think he was vloser to Ronnie than he was.
    You guys all want to crucify Gary but have you watched all the interviews w/Artimus, he changes stories all the time.
    Artimus is ONLY one who said Ronnie had divorce papers in his luggage & so who knows. Ron Eckerman, crash survivor satated in his book that RVZ was happy, he had stayed at their house & they got along great. He was super excited to be a dad again. When did Artimus say that abt Judy? When she tried to stop this movie, never before had he ever mentioned it. If RVZ had filed for divotce there would have been papers in hands of Ronnie's lawyer & he would have brought them forward after crash.
    Artimus is pissed because he isn't in band anymore, he can go out & play Skynyrd but Gary can't. Gary was President of LSP. Artimus was a drummer.
    He is now a registered sex offender, would you want him in your band?
    I have no idea how much money Jusy had but reports say Gary is worth $40 mil dollars, he soesn't need the money.
    Anyone who takes everything Artimus over Gary is dishonoring Ronnie because he trusted Gary, that's why Gary was President of LSP. Gary, Gene or Artimus have all said different things, contradicted something they said before but with Gary & Gene, just lil things that isn't big like,I heard Gary in 1 interview talkin abt Steve's live audition & he says Steve played on Mr Breeze, in another he said T for Texas, pulled out his slide to sound different than what he & Allen were playing, cause that was our jam song.
    In another he said Mr Breeze, in another he said T for Texas & Mr Breeze.
    Ron Eckerman says in his book Steve played T For Texas, then stayed for Mr Breeze. So Gary got a few details mixed up here & there but Artimis flat out lied that he was shot, lied abt him alone going for help & those are BIG things, you are gonna remember if you were shot or not cause in 1977 he said the guy fired a shot in the air.
    You are not gonna forget that there were 2 other guys with you that went for help! Don't believe me if you don't want, do like I did & am still doing, is watching anything I can find abt LS & then see who the fake is

    Just finished watching this pile of crap movie.... I remember the plane crash when it happened and the store from the band members back then was Artimus Pyle did not help anyone and immediately fled the scene to go get help for himself first I think this movie is his attempt to vanish accusations once and for all.... I actually laughed at part of this movie and his blatant attempt to make himself out to be this big hero and the most important part of the Lynyrd Skynyrd band... Ronnie Van Zant's Widow spent 2 million dollars on lawyers to try to stop him from making this movie and after watching it I know why

      Johnny Mote confirms Pyle ran to him for help, for ALL of them - frantically asking for bulldozers etc, in his traumatised state, to clear a path to the 'plane; why ignore an eyewitness & instead believe the worst? Pyle maybe embellishes -as if it needs it -saying he was shot by Mote & RVZ was walking around just before the crash doing handshakes - but the going for help to save *everyone* rings true.

    Gary has def sold out years ago. The money took over his soul. Ronnie would be very heart broken at how things have turned out. Judy of course is a money hungry female but Gary should’ve been a man. He’s not.

      I'd agree but don't link greed + genitals! *NOT* all females are money hungry & some males make Judy look a saint. Learnt the hard way to avoid soulless mercenaries; can't relate to the mentality -male/female/whatever. Judge morals by what's in a heart not their pants. Or underwear as you say in USA? 😉 x

      Get over a family member's death. If you are so closed that you dont get it, your heart has become too bitter. And what are you doing here then anyway?
