Interesting and informative. Powerful looking artillery piece. It's good that enjoyable times were had in Paris. Unfortunately there would be no enjoyable times in Moscow!!! There was very little if any reconnaissance performed pertaining to the pre invasion date. Weather/terrain/military strength. Those factors were considered 20 miles from Moscow. Much too late!!!
I think the retreat from Moscow, did more to break moral and thus the idea of victory, and from that point on, no German soldier, Officer or NCO, or ordinary enlisted/conscripted trooper could or did believe the war to be winnable. Probably the best out come they expected was an Armistice to the West and a fortified line holding the East until such time as the West would ally itself with Germany to defeat the Russians. Unfortunately for the Third 'Reich' the excesses of the Nazis, and the Industrial Murder of whole peoples, plus the unimaginable losses suffered by the Russians to which the Western Allies owed so much to be able to open a new front to the South, and then the West - the only acceptable outcome was the total and unconditional surrender of Germany. It is a shame, that Adolf Hitler killed himself, it would have been better if he had stood trial, and so much evidence revealed during his trial, that the idea of Nazism would have died, there and then.
The All-lies insistence on unconditional surrender prolonged the war by at least 2 years. The All-lies condemned Eastern Europe to Communism for many years.
