There's actually a rather perverse reason behind the name of the Right Whale.
Right Whales are slow swimmers, friendly and curious often swimming up to boats. Which sadly made them the "Right" whale to hunt, certainly if you factor in how the species doesn't really put up a fight when harpooned and floats when killed.
At the end of the 19'th century the Right whale had been over hunted to such a degree that it deemed not to be very viable to sustain the whaling industry, so they started looking at the Gray Whale to replace it.
But the gray whale was a totally different beast indeed, they wouldn't go down without a good fight and many whaler met his demise when a Gray whale would launch itself out of the water onto the boats, rendering them to splinters, it gave them nickname "Devil fish"

The Greenland Whale (Bowhead) is the most outstanding for me. She lives confined to the Arctic regions all year, all her life, without even leaving to breed. Seeing one emerging in the middle of the ice floe must be something fantastic, like a huge alien wandering on a remote planet... Greets from Brazil!!...

Most countries have stopped mass whaleing but few other country's like Japan, Norway and I believe to some poorer counties still try to continue.
Saddly to says whaleing isn't much of an treat to them as we are now looking at boat noise pollution, boat strikes, illege fishing nets and ocean pollution it self with toxins and plastic dumped into the sea.

Jai hind There’s NEVER been an attack on a human being from a killer whale in the wild !! But they have killed people in captivity!! That should tell us something right there!! Animal has a brain the same size as ours!! They don’t need to be kept in a big swimming pool!! Some marine biologist think it’s actually a slow form of torture!! There made to swim oceans and we keep them in a pool !! SO SO WRONG

Eskimos are being allowed to slaughter 10 infant bowhead whales every year, and Greenpeace isn't doing anything about that.

From above, the head is more pointed than that of the blue whale, and the dorsal fin tends to be taller, more falcate, and set farther forward on the tail stock than in the blue whale. ... The most distinctive feature of the fin whale, however, is its coloration." species-identification.org/species.php?species_group=marine_mammals&id=75#:~:text=Fin%20whales%20are%20large%2C%20but,than%20in%20the%20blue%20whale.&text=The%20most%20distinctive%20feature%20of,%2C%20however%2C%20is%20its%20coloration.
