@@AmericanOutbackAmazing I never associated the stretch with campgrounds, though I thought there used to be a small one in Bovill itself. There is certainly much government land where there would be no legal problem with camping, though I realize, of course, that having a big rig brings spatial challenges as well as various advantages. Also, though it's true that there are enormous national forests in north and central Idaho, much of the timber country is *state forest* and big timber company land. The claim asserted below that Idaho equals national forests is rendered further from accurate by Indian tribal land, especially the large Nez Perce reservation, which is not far west of much of this trek and comes into play directly when you hit St, Maries.

What are you looking for. There are no KOAs. Idaho is forests and mountains. It is not a big tourist state. Campgrounds are mostly used by locals and hunters. You are in Idaho = you are in Nat. Forest. Potlatch and Boville are in the Palouse district. Clarkia is the St Joe District. If someone isn't living or farming it it's probably USFS. Just stop at a wide spot and camp. Watch the fires though.
@@AmericanOutbackAmazing Idaho is a geographically diverse state, with each region having it's own distinct celabrations, customs, and culture. @@MYSTUFF-wy8gc I was in southern Idaho twice this summer, Silver City and the Owyhee area, loved it :) I wouldn't mind living on the edge of the Boise metro someday, so much to do in the area. Sad to see all the fires now, hopefully it rains soon.
Lovely scenery - thanks for sharing.
Many thanks :)
Great video. Lived in St.Maries from 1969 to 1990. Took this route numerous times. Good memories.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
I noted this trip down for future reference.
Some longer videos coming, you might need 2 coffees?
I know and love this gloriously green stretch, and think of it often.
I hope all the campgrounds closed then for maintenance are now open.

I am working on getting more comfortable in dispersed areas with no cell coverage, it is different for me since I did not grow up in areas like that.
