Thank you Bigtrac.. another great video. People talk about the stench and the basic observation of it being chicken s*** but when thinking about the agricultural science and how much nutrients that product has for the soil then it's seen how valuable it is to the plant growth and farm production. 😁🇳🇿🇺🇸🇳🇿🇺🇸
Being a very loyal Deere guy, makes this very hard to admit but i do agree with you, the Challenger/Fendt 1000 series has technology and feature that puts it into a class of its own by quite a bit.I do hope it forces other manufactures to up their game on tractors in this class. But i have to say from expirience the Deere 8r series which are the closest deere has to these are very superb machines.
As always fantastic video buddy and thanks for the upload. Great info and you really sell these challengers. Never would give them much thought until watching your channel
The fuel savings adds considerable profit to any operator. U S brands will have to compete or loose business. Good background info on spreaders, and your opinion. 🚜🐓👍
Another stunning video and information, your video's nailed me every time to the screen to soak up all the footage and info, amazing to realize that spreader take a full semie load of chicken manure, thanks very much
Love these Tractors. Glad to see More AGCO Brands Tractors . The 1000 Series Tractors are Alsome. They are the Best on the Market in my Oppion. They sip the Fuel.
We just got two planters the same as the one you showed, we also got a Wilrich toolbar. We are moving 12 of the row units from the two White planters to the Wilrich bar to make three 24 row 30 inch planters.
The Meyer spreaders are made in Wisconsin. Their Crop-Max models have a 3 apron live floor and offer 3 different spreaders/distributors on the back, Vertical, Horizontal or the Combination as in BTP video with a guillotine gate and spinners on the bottom. That spreader is also good for dry fertilizer or lime. They offer rear gate kits to allow them to be used for silage or grain hauling also. Can unload a box full of silage in 50 seconds. They have a very strong hydraulic motor gearbox and rear axle on the apron assembly.
BTP we have been seeing an increase of Challenger tractors in the ag fields. Used to only see them pulling pans and leveling ground. One thing to note is that a lot of the older equipment remains the John Deere and case however the new machinery being seen around here has been a lot of the gorgeous challengers. I don’t have any experience in operation however I did stop at the dealership to check them out and was over impressed with build quality, certainly operator comfort, and design. They seem ages ahead of our North American counter parts. Hopefully this will drive domestic companies to step it up.
Guys in our Area do the same thing. Just in stead of a cat front loader they got a JCB telehandler and two Fendt 930 vario. And they come from 30 miles away to spread. And they also have Meyer spreaders
Main difference between the Fendt and the Challanger is the controle of the tractor, the Fendt uses the european style of joystick with a lot more features then the american style joystick. Wheels are also different, since we have width restricktions here in europe and we need a tractor that can do a lot more then just pull. We have lot more impliments for frontmounted work as well so we make great use of front 3 point and PTO, since we love to do more then 1 job in the fields with 1 pass. Roadspeeds are also high here in Europe, even they can be limitied a lot from one country to another. Otherwise there really is not that much difference. And agree the 1000 series Fendt or Challanger is just the king of standard tractors at the moment. There are not even some that comes close.
The 1000 in green or yellow is one impressive machine. I would like to film in Europe some day. Most implements in the area I live in are 40 to 60 ft wide so these 1000’s do great in saving fuel and speeding up production. I filmed a Fendt 724 this year with a front and rear mower. I like the front pto.
@@bigtractorpower Can I suggest that you have a look at this video from @Jonny 1388 (a popular UK youtuber) who uses a Fendt 1050? It's by far the "best" it doesn't matter what brand it is if you can't get Parts or Service it's not worth buying. My barn looks like a rainbow I have a little everything. But the only brand I'll never buy is cat there's a dealer 20mins from me and getting any Service is like pulling teeth they only have 6 techs and Parts are scarce
Another good video, with the little experience I have with chicken litter, I know it's very strong and corrosive so you wouldn't spread it thick, the set up doesn't seem to be very cost effective ,I would be interested to know the distance from farm to field, it's seem odd to me that you load 25tons to field ,tip and reload 25 tons to spread, run another couple of speakers and do away with the lorries handling the litter once, on the loader a 4 in 1 bucket works a little better, but then what do I know ,I'm a London Cab driver, Kevin Fox . God Bless.
I’m a big fan of John Deere, but AGCO is a close second. My grandfather farmed with Allis Chalmers, and I really enjoy watching AGCO tractors. Awesome video. Do you know how many chickens they raise?
Nice video....would be interesting to know the nutrient analysis of the chicken manure. For manure application 2 tons is not that much per acre so the nutrient value must be quite significant. I really like the way the Meyer spreader system gets the job done accurately and correctly. Years prior there was a lot of guessing as to how much per acre of manure was being applied so it was very hard to know if supplemental commercial fertilizer was needed or not. Those Challengers look to be a qualified competitor up against the green, red, blue! Thanks BTP!!
Thank you for watching. I have been filming chicken litter spreading for several years. The tech in the past two years has really advanced for excellent placement.
The 10xx series is great for PTO work but in pure drawbar operation the transmission looses a lot of power, here in Germany some guys testet a fendt 1050 vs. a JD 8400R with two exact same cultivators and the JD pulled faster with less weight and less HP
The loading is not normally done in the field. It is normally done in a corner or grass spot. In this video it is on the edge of a hill that is not in crops.

It may. In this case it was delivered direct from the chicken house. It will compost out in the field over the winter. Time is off the essence to get the material out on the open ground before it gets too muddy to spread.
Awsome work making videos like this. I'd have been really lucky to be able to be inside tractors like these. I always watch your videos all the way through. Sometimes I go back in the list of videos and watch them again. Since I discovered youtube videos like these I stopped watching regular tv.

The Challenger 10 Series is an awfull Machine.I am working with a Fendt 1050 for more than a Year.It is the best Machine I ever working with..Greets from Germany...
AJ yea they will treat the Fendt customers better, for the money I hoped they would. Also wondering who AGCO will allow to sell the new Fendt combines, I feel like the Cat dealers won't be allowed to have them after seeing how well they handled Challenger combines.
Military Museum yes. It has a man engine and fendt its the only agco owned company that uses man engines and i belivie that the transmission is a fendt transmission as well.
Do they use multiple dump sites so the tractors and spreaders don't have to use public roadways? I can't imagine all that "muck" being tracked out onto the road with each trip the tractor and spreader have to make to and from the loading point. Also how long does it take for you to clear your head after being out in the field like that walking around from one rig to another; or are you using a scuba mask and oxygen tank, LOL.
I think a lot of these farms with thousands of acres mostly have large-sized tractors, so don't have much choice. Plus larger tractors like this can handle everything without any worries, as fast as the operator can handle. If you saw the weight scale in the tractor, the spreader had on over 20 tons of material... that's a lot of weight to be tugging around at high speeds.
I am not sure if this farm has chickens. There trucks were picking up the litter. There are a bunch of chicken houses in the area. This is a good sized farm they are involved in allot.
I was driving in northwest Indiana in late August and smelled a really foul disgusting odor coming from a field I passed. Could it have been chicken litter? I know what hog manure smells like and it wasn't that. More reminiscent of vomit than anything else. Thoughts?
The 1000 Series Tracor is a real good tractor, but i think its not "the" best tractor, because each operation is different with different needings. I dont know how it is in the states, but in Germany the Fendt/Challenger service is extreme bad, and a bad service and a higher price are good reasons to not buy a Challenger..... (my opinion)
Looks like the MAN engine develops its peak power and peak torque at a lower RPM than most tractor engines and that probably has something to do with the fuel savings. It's interesting that they use the same engine in the 1038 as they do in the 1050. It's odd that the Nebraska test for these tractors don't tell you the boost that they are producing at peak power, I wonder why?
Good grief... I remember spreading hog sh*t in the fall with an open cab Deere (I forget the model) as a teenager back in the mid 80's in NW Iowa. If I was lucky, they let me use the 4020 with the cab that was just about as warm as the tractor without the cab.
And speaking of Cat wheel loaders, I had the fortune of running a '74 930 for a couple years. The previous owner rebuilt the little 3304 before he sold it and it never gave us fits. It was parked outside and even on those -25° days in the river valley, the thing would start every single time and we'd move mountains of snow or whatever was needed. Great old loader and the heater actually worked pretty good in it. I miss the old girl.
I wouldn't trade jobs with this end dump drivers. Dumping a road trailer off road is crazy. You would think they would use a dump less moving floor system.
In Australia we use truck and trailer combos a lot safer too many tri axil trailers tip over sideways in pass years and they carry about the same amount or more in materials
Military Museum we use belt trailers for this same job. Used to use dumps. Was scared every load. Always ran at least 2 trucks together so one person could stand behind and alert the driver if the load was not coming off evenly.
Over here where I live in Liberty Kentucky there's the Amish that has a big chicken farm too and they were out here your poor last spread and chicken manure all over the pills to put in their crops
Hey Guys, I know.... that does not fit the video but i would like to improve my English (unfortunately our English teacher can only teach that badly). you learn best if you have to apply it naturally and you are taught by fluent speakers. my question would be: Would anyone be so nice and help me to learn English perfectly?
I would like to see how a John Deere 8400R stacks up against a Challenger 1000. The John Deere 8R is solid tractor. I can’t believe there is anything out there today better than an 8400R. When is BTP going to show us an 8400R? It’s been out 3 years and as far as I can tell you have never done a video on it.
it doesn't. there is more to the challenger then just hp. look at the drive train of the machine. there is a couple guys that post and they are puling next to 95xx and 96xx deeres.
MAN engine, Fendt tractors, its German engineering. US build stuff cant compete, still relying on cheap diesel prices so you got ancient engine technologie. Same with cars etc.

It’s cool to film the machines but the smell is tough to film in. It’s rank to say the least.
Hey Guys,
I know.... that does not fit the video but i would like to improve my English (unfortunately our English teacher can only teach that badly). you learn best if you have to apply it naturally and you are taught by fluent speakers. my question would be: Would anyone be so nice and help me to learn English perfectly?
I would like to see how a John Deere 8400R stacks up against a Challenger 1000. The John Deere 8R is solid tractor. I can’t believe there is anything out there today better than an 8400R. When is BTP going to show us an 8400R? It’s been out 3 years and as far as I can tell you have never done a video on it.
it doesn't. there is more to the challenger then just hp. look at the drive train of the machine. there is a couple guys that post and they are puling next to 95xx and 96xx deeres.
fendt is 20 years ahead
I take it the challenge was accepted
It sure was. 👍
MAN engine, Fendt tractors, its German engineering. US build stuff cant compete, still relying on cheap diesel prices so you got ancient engine technologie. Same with cars etc.
Isn't Kentucky, great? Born and raised.
It sure is. Great farming.
A fowl odor
👍😄
Seems to be spreading awful lite.
Two tons to acre. Once the litter is spread it’s hard to see. It’s plenty thick but hard to see like fertilizer pellets.
brain dead spreader operators should be in position ready to load in stead of loader waiting for them, get it together
It’s really not a big deal. He was resetting a gps line. It helped me get an angle on both moving so I am glad there was a delay.
