Wow this is what was holding me back. Not managing my emotions as a man. A leader must never lose his attitude in front of his people. We have few to go to💪🏾 Thank you God for Don🙏🏾

Don I truly appreciate your content and the majority of your content speaks life into younger generations to come. I don’t usually comment on RUclips videos but when I do, it’s to truly shed light on an area here that I feel needs light shed. I’m a father of 3 beautiful boys and 2 beautiful step daughters, as a 24 year old father, i dislike the fact that someone with zero experience with a child, tries to speak on topics, they have no idea about. In particular, it’s your talk of fatherhood in your videos. Us fathers know what it’s like being a role model to kids and as a proud father of 5 I understand the role I play, it’s not that easy. I’m a leader within my household and community. I do my best to present to my kids the best father I could possibly be, in turn I’ve also given my children a side of me that no one else has seen before. That in fact is building character sir. It’s the bond you build with your kids, wife, and family, that shapes and molds the person you are for years to come. I personally, don’t have to disguise feelings towards my family to be a leader. What makes me a leader, truly is, that I openly house and council my household. Call me young with tons of kids, call it babies having babies, I’ve heard the ridicule. It’s none to phase me, but what does phase me, is misleading others to follow suit and to build the persona that, if you are a father you can’t show your feelings. That’s 70’s framing of a mans world. It’s that simple. I had a father who did the same and was very old school. No feelings, always looked and acted focused, for the most part ge was a leader, what he said always went, was very successful, but, to this day, my father and I don’t have nor can we find an ounce of common ground. My oldest is 7 and the relationship I have with her and all of the younger siblings is amazing, they know they can come to me in their time of need with questions, no matter what it is, because I held that door open with my inner emotions and my heart. The worst thing you can do as a man to your family, is separate yourself from the family, put on a masked face, and pretend. You’ll learn when you have your child and you’ll grow in the essence of fatherhood. Now I’m not stating that everything your saying makes no sense, because I watch and I listen. Not my argument here, I’m only arguing the fact that you have no idea what fatherhood truly is or feels like. Until your in this position, it’s something you’ll never understand. Stories only go so far, people can explain it, but until you have your family in your arms, you’ll only wonder what it’s like to be a dad. I wish you nothing but blessings for your little boy! Also a safe delivery and fast recovery for your wife! Thank you for taking the time to read and again, I appreciate the content you extend! Respectfully, -J

11:09 - :Men being accountable for kid
12:35: It's all of our issues
I'm so glad you pointed this out, I think we in the black community don't see the bigger picture and are too focused on escape at times.
We don't realise we're more interdependent than we like to imagine. We don't appreciate our individual success and success of our children is linked to a healthy and strong community/network of responsible adults.
The better and stronger your circle the better for you and your kids!

Definitely respect your logic but I think there’s also a safe place for men to be human, vulnerable showing different emotions. First time I saw my pops cry “at a funeral” I felt like it was ok to have feelings and that I didn’t need to be a robot.
    Different strokes for different folks.
    Respect.

Amen, and the mother doesnt dictate how much you get to love on your kids, no Matter how bitter y’all are to one another or one sided that bitterness is. Fight to be in your kids life being child support and get as much time with them as you legally can

Yo about 28 minutes in, you said don't let them see you down or defeated as a man who is the leader. But isn't good to let them see you fail, AND see you recover? Then your people will learn pain is real, and your pain is real too. That shows them that daddy hurt, but here's how he overcame, and I can do the same!
