Editor's note: 1- Just a friendly reminder that none of the flight footage was graded, so you see the clean raw output of the cameras. 2- The Goggle view is not as good as the on-board, but it's also less blocky that portrait here on youtube, where some lower bitrate, slightly pixellated footage such as the Goggle ones can be highly accentuated by the RUclips compression. Since I saw the raw Goggle files (therefore what Joshua was seeing), I can testify it was a bit clearer than what you see here on RUclips (specifically the grass during the fast paced dives). However, in areas with small branches and clutter, you still wouldn't be able to see all of 'em.
A recommendation for you: always export video using CPU encoder, not GPU encoder. GPU encoders are well known to produce noticeably worse quality than CPU encoders for similar bitrate
@@RyanQuellet I'm not in charge of exporting, but I'm pretty sure Joshua is well aware of that while doing so. This blockiness is not present in the exports though, so it's 100% RUclips's compression, which is also well known for making a mess. Thank you for taking the time to give us the advice though, one can never stop learning! :)

Love the attempt to fly the cat flap at the end. So much fun when you make it in and back out. Speed burst/brake skills seem to be key. Go slow and you get washed away. Go fast and slam into an obstacle beyond the opening. It might be all kinds of fun to set up a "mini golf" course to fly with a drone.
Hello, I also have the Goggles X and I recommend you get rid of the stock antennas. I don't know if you are trying to provide a more stock experience for the review or if you are unaware but the stock omnis are criminally awful. Throwing on some high quality patches and omnis transforms the system and gives it range rivaling 03 in my experience.
Have you seen the Oddity RC x120 pro 2" cinewhoop. Bought one to test and it blew my mind. Comes with a DJI 03 air unit and it's 4s. You can throw it around like a 5" and it flies great.
Wish you had done a Gyro Flo and color grade example at the end instead of comparing it to the 03. We already got moonlight vs 03 on another video. I wanted to see what can be done with the GF20, post gyro flow, post a good grade and edit. Show what it can produce. I don't care personally what it's like vs 03. Tired of the WS vs DJI in every single video. Just mu two cents. Other than that. Good review as per usual JBm thanks for the content.

@@ThrashFPV no Goggles 3 is DJI, DJI is like iPhone everything is proprietary. You can only use Walksnail with Caddx or Hdzero, or something like that...
I actually left-arrowed a bunch around 15:45 to hear you blame it al on the latency. For anyone who buys this, I think you'll also find the prop guards are much easier to tweak back into shape if you give them GENTLE heat, ideally no more than boiling water.

Yeah, Flywoo now offer the FlyLens 85 as a Moonlight BNF as well as with O3/O3 Lite/Avatar V2/HDZero/Wasp/analog, which makes it even more of a direct competitor with the Caddx Gofilm20. I'm looking forward to the review of the FlyLens 85, I've heard good things about it from other reviewers.

great video! after literally two flights, mine still fly but for some reasons it has a red static led turned on near the soldering of cables the lower right motor. everything seems to work, I just have this new light always turned on. any clue on what I could be?
I am still FPVing using direct drive 250 gram helicopters after so many years. I still can not get over the dread of quads' high RPM, high pitch noise. I always run my heli at about 3000 rpm, and it is a 50 Hz noise, about the same as a US power grid transformer's buzz noise at 50 Hz, and it is silent beyound 20 feet outdoors. My onboard recording's sound, in my channel, sounds like listening to a transformer. I once used a DJI Mavic 3's propeller blades on my helicopter turning at 7000 rpm, and the noise embarrassed me in the park, and I could hear it from 100 feet distance..

Wouldn’t the Avata 2 be a better option for cinewhoop? It’s got more range, longer flight time by 3x, still 60mph with light freestyle, and gps. I want to like walksnail, but it feels like a distant second in every case.
fwiw I just threw my BetaFPV Meteor 85 with walksnail 1s on the scale and it came out at 50 grams flat with tri-blades. That cine is so much heavier than it needs to be!
@@GMx_1 Amazingly. I have gotten away with full dives with failed pullouts whacking it into the ground. I do some light racing with pvc gates and have smashed it frame-first into just about every conceivable angle. Still on my first frame. Has one little crack in the battery tray which I don't even mind because it fits my GNBs a bit better. For contrast I think i'm on my 6th or 7th set of blades on the 85. But that's more because I hate when they turn green from all the mowing the lawn ;)
@@CriticoolHit YEAAA THIS! a couple of my drones are completely coated in lawn muck.... this from flying in my back yard. They can get really "green" after some flights and crashes, so many crashes!
I've done blind tests with my friends using the on board O3 footage vs the on board "4k" on the moonlight and every time everyone says the O3 looks way better than the moonlight, and I agree, depending on lighting/scene the moonlight almost looks like analog next to the O3, it's a shame.

I realized what makes it look analog at times is being called "smudging" or "smearing" by people online, plenty of videos or posts complaining about it. After spending a few weeks playing with the settings and post processing I've managed to make the moonlight footage much better and I'm happy enough with it to keep using it, but the O3 still just looks plain better, especially in the goggles and compared to the regular non 4K Walksnail stuff, which is a shame because it's a good system otherwise, has much better range than O3 and much better OSD.
No way they do that. It's way too niche and would cut into their Avata sales. Their Air Units required relatively little engineering time since they are very similar to what's on board the Potato and the Avata.
You need to watch some drone news... DJI is battling just being allowed to sell gear, let alone release new stuff that could potentially be useful for current conflicts. They have the technology, we just aren't allowed it yet.

i lost mine last week. Was around 400meters away, running a brand new battery, 3 mins into the flight its just lost all rx and video at the same time. Unfortunatly it was in the sea. I later found it on the shore and recovered the sd card and repaired it to view the footage. Which also confirms it lost both rx and video at the same time. no idea how or what happened. Gutted :(

anyone buy this and love it? i have hdzero goggles and the tiny hawk 3 freesyle quad, i have the walksnail vrx on my hd zero goggles with the avatar hd pro camera, and the dji o3 with the g2 goggles on my 5in. im looking for a smaller quad and where i live this time of year it gets dark around 5pm when i get off work so i loved my ws avatar pro vtx, when i had it on a 5in because i could fly at midnight or later if wanted. id like to keep my o3 on my 5in and have another smaller quad to fly around my yard after dark, anyone who bought this would you reccomend it?
Don't chase drift cars with this. You want a 5" ductless quad for sure. Grip chasing maybe really high kv 5" (2050+) with a stupidly large battery (6S 2200) or a 7" high kv quad.

I think its because RUclipsrs have a kid audience and most are getting famous so young. Like they dont end up getting adult jobs because of RUclips so they dont really grow up and think that stuff is fine lr they just ignore it.

JB, do you have a playlist with videos on flying tips? Such as flying to simulate as if the drone was a wild dog chasing your actor down.
Actually, flying that looks like a wild dog chasing is a skill that came naturally to me. I also do drunken falling quite well.

Not the same system. The Meteor uses their stripped down 1S VTX. The moonlight VTX alone is almost as heavy as your quad.

The moonlight always looking like it has sharpness turned up to 11. That's my biggest gripe about walksnail in general.
You can change the sharpness in the goggles settings

A pavo pico is smaller, weighs less at 92 grams, runs O3+elrs & flies about as good as this does.

anyone buy this and love it? i have hdzero goggles and the tiny hawk 3 freesyle quad, i have the walksnail vrx on my hd zero goggles with the avatar hd pro camera, and the dji o3 with the g2 goggles on my 5in. im looking for a smaller quad and where i live this time of year it gets dark around 5pm when i get off work so i loved my ws avatar pro vtx, when i had it on a 5in because i could fly at midnight or later if wanted. id like to keep my o3 on my 5in and have another smaller quad to fly around my yard after dark, anyone who bought this would you reccomend it?
It doesn't seem that small compared to a Cinelog 25 and the range is REALLY BAD.
Don't chase drift cars with this. You want a 5" ductless quad for sure. Grip chasing maybe really high kv 5" (2050+) with a stupidly large battery (6S 2200) or a 7" high kv quad.

JB I love you and been with you since day one but please rent a dumpster and clean that yard and barn up screw the house spend a weekend and put those kids to work and pull down the dead trees and all the junk in the woods out. I think its because RUclipsrs have a kid audience and most are getting famous so young. Like they dont end up getting adult jobs because of RUclips so they dont really grow up and think that stuff is fine lr they just ignore it.
