the MGEX Strike Freedom looks really disappointing to me, it still has a lot of disgusting puke gold peeking out and the chinese knock-off 1/100 Gold Plated Strike Freedom proves that you can have gold on gold plated joint parts and not have the plating rub off.
I think i will paint my MGEX SF, some parts are ok and i could just clear coat them with maybe a clear pearl to enhance the mettalic, but some definitely need to be painted.
The “one exception” for me are the Pale Riders. I currently have every single pale rider they have released so far, and i already have the Red Rider pre-ordered when it first dropped on the us P-Bandai shop.
as someone who has built the daban strike freedom mb kit, while not necessary 1 to 1 comparison i believe plating the elbow joints could cause fitting issues , well thats just me experience with a kit that had plated everythin on the inner frame
As overdue a new MG Zeta Plus is, it'd also take quite a bit of doing to improve on that kit. The Zeta Plus is easily the best real-world representation of the Zeta Gundam design in plastic model form. Stable feet, easy transformation, workable weight balance - I can forgive its relative lack of articulation because it does many of the things a Zeta Gundam based kit just doesn't. I'm awaiting the Zeta ver.Ka because I'm a hopeless fanboy of the design, but I'm also under no illusions that it will greatly improve on the lackluster stability of the Ver.2.0. We shall see.
Yea, I also wish they would have more plated gold on some of the obvious and exposed segments, but as a whole it really looks superb. A lot of ppl have been asking for a MG 2.0 of Strike Freedom, and given its overwhelming popularity in Japan, the MGEX treatment is actually a pretty smart business move imo. It's an absolute overload of details with so many interconnected movable gimmicks and armor gaps to maximize exposure of that internal frame. Especially given how more recent MGs have been a bit light on internal details, it's great to see a kit that does the opposite. I do have to wonder if they'll release a P Bandai deluxe version in the future where they plate every gold runners in the kit. Also curious to see if there will be wings of sky + dragoon display addon sold separately in the future.
That LOBooster looks pretty much the same as my OG HG... It seems all they did was re-release that kit with less polycaps. And yes, that was my very first Gunpla so it is an "exception" for me as is the Hazel.
Side by side, they’re really different. Especially the legs. Check out the comparison pics. Sad that it’s p-Bandai though If you mean the booster backpack itself, it’s also quite diff. Proportions, dimensions, etc.
Super glad I bought the knock off Metal Build model from Dragon Momoko. Yeah I prefer the MGEX design-wise and it has some cool gimmicks, but at that price with the mediocre looking gold, no metal at all, nah I’d rather buy the legit metal build, but there’s no way it’s gonna be reprinted anytime soon (if ever) so that it interferes with the MGEX sales.
@@f.b.l.9813 the original dm has the ugly gold but the new one with the metal frame has an electroplated die cast frame. Actually pretty impressive tbh
@@masterkent1 oh, a few years back I was really disappointed with the MG Full Burst Strike Freedom so I was looking for a better version of it, one without any of the puke gold plastic, I was eyeing either Daban or Dragon Momoko versions at the time but the DM one back then had plastic gold so I ended up buying the Daban version, the Frame wasn't pre-built, it was plastic plated with Gold but it looked really good but because it's plastic, it came in runners so there where some nub marks left but it was pretty easy to mask, the plastic underneath was already kinda shiny so some gold paint to mask the nub marks easily blended in with the rest of the gold frame, tbh I really prefer it over the Full Burst and the MGEX versions. I just don't understand why Bandai always insists on using those horrendous looking plastic gold parts, even cheap chinese knock-offs proves that plated gold plastic parts can work even in joint parts that rub against each other, i've had the Daban version for years now and there's still no sign of the plating rubbing off on the joints. EDIT: I looked into the new Dragon Momoko versions and yeah it's pretty impressive but the Daban version seems to have a shinier frame tho, Daban had a mirror gold finish while the Momoko version seems a bit more rough, I guess it's understandable since Daban is plastic plated and Momoko is cast metal so it's gonna be more rough.
@@f.b.l.9813 I owned the daban as well and I feel like people overexaggerate the fragility of the electroplating. It's not like the coating makes the parts insanely thick to begin with and the inner frame on the Daban didn't have issues with the coating becoming compromised aside from the usual nub marks
@@ilhamwicaksono5802 Gold Plastic Syndrome, injection gold plastic is notoriously brittle and awful looking, a lot of very rare and insanely expensive Transformers toys have been lost because of it.
I think you need to look at the Zeta 2.0 pricing because it averages $61 to $84 so the $71 is not that far off. Not to mention that this is a completely new mold and not a reprint.
ROLL IN THE ZETA VARIANTS
Bandai comes in and put a middle finger, pbandai

I hate the MGEX strike freedom now. If you're paying that much for a strike freedom, give me my fucking plated gold.

For G unit Burnlapius would be next in line, then after Hydra/Griepe.

HGAC L.O.Booster is using new manga design which is has claw on feet in MA mode. Plus it is under lame premium label

does the Dragon Momoko have gold plating or gold injection frame?

It's more like the yen is so weak right now cost of production goes up for currently in production kits.
Gundam L.O.Booster or the funny nickname "Gundam Lobster" lol. 🦞
