I’m vegan purely because I personally don’t want to contribute to the horror of the meat, dairy and egg industries. The only thing I regret is not going vegan soon enough. I love cooking and there are some amazing dishes I’ve always cooked that I found easy to veganise. I’m 61 and have never felt better emotionally and physically since the switch 9 years ago.

you are 61 which means you are living the bonus years.....as humans we need to consume both plants and animals to stay healthy....if you think plants are not living things then its ok...and to grow your plant based food farmers have to kill and poison every animals and insect in order for you to feel self rightiously good. live the few years you have left and dont give lecture on unhealthy life style to others. thanks
I know from a lifetime of eating meat that if someone started judging me I would get really insulted and dig into more meat. However, by watching your videos and educating myself on different animals I have greatly reduced my meat intake naturally. An example I cannot eat pork anymore, I cannot eat beef anymore, and a great many seafoods are out the window. This "soft" education when I watch you is working every day and I am pretty proud of the steps I have taken naturally.
I am 47 and have been vegetarian since I was 12. I was strictly vegan for a portion of that time and aim to be as plant-based as I can. I agree with you that we need to be less judgmental and to be more supportive of each other. I am so glad I saw this video today because I was able to purchase the bundle. Re travelling: I have been vegan for about 6 years. I used to stress out and starve trying to find vegan food while abroad (to the point it put me off going away in some respect) Now when I travel - vegan where possible, vegetarian otherwise. It’s made such a huge difference and I know I can sustain this way of life long term ☺️

My dad, a Physician, said my diet would cause deficiency, but that never happened. Menopause happened at 54 for me; and was over quickly. Plant based options are amazing now and creators like y’all have made a HUGELY positive impact. Trying to get my Danish husband to enjoy curries is my lifelong goal… thanks for what you do, you’re making an enormous difference to the planet and to animals everywhere.💚
The thing I miss the most as a vegan is the simplicity of eating out and attending social events without having to scrutinize menus and food selections. That said, like you mentioned, there is so much variety and I am able to recreate pretty much everything that I would have missed the most, so that’s great! I truly think if more vegans had your perspective and attitude, more people would try it and be more drawn to it. The militant vegans who drive people away with their zero tolerance for error just makes me sad.
Exactly this!!! All the time! Scrutinise the menu and be Scrutinised, had a go at or picked on by others that you don't eat with regularly.. especially on what our children eat! X
I went vegetarian a year ago and now like 60% food I eat is plant-based (can't tolerate lactose much so it narrows things down fast 😄). Your channel and the way you're non-judgmental and welcoming was one of the big reasons I took this step. I wish more people had this sort of mentality. Everything counts, we're not perfect. Judging people for not being 100% vegan, 100% eco, 100% perfect...etc. that just discourages them from trying their best. Thank you for this safe space you've created and happy 10 year anniversary!

Vegan of 5 years here. No one in my family is vegan, so basically I continue to see meat and all everyday and in my fridge all the time. I’ve been a vegetarian for 52 of my 55 years of life. This was my own choice aged 3 - determined little girl I guess lol! It has done me no harm at all, recently had B12 and Iron tested and totally normal. I eat a Mediterranean diet mainly and mostly plant based. Love your vlogs and your views on being vegan. Also, coming up on mine as well. 😊 My vegan journey started when I had had enough of my debilitating period pain and after being told by doctors that there's nothing I can do about it. I decided to go to a Chinese herbologist and ask for period pain tea or medicine, and they didn't have anything. But, then, as I left they ran out the door and asked if I had tried not eating meat. I was already considering going vegan, but they said specifically around ovulation to stop eating meat. So, then and there I decided to just cut meat out all together for a month, just to see. And here I am 10 years later just enjoying normal pain free periods. And also enjoying all the vegan recipes I have found that do not make me miss eating meat one bit. At last someone who talks sense, I am Vegetarian, I tried being vegan when I woke up to the horrors of animal food production, I don’t drink milk and will buy vegan cheese here and there but dairy cheese is sometimes consumed. The vegan journey is personal but I became depressed because it put me under so much pressure to be a perfect vegan. You must do what you think is right for you, my best friend eats meat but we don’t judge one another because as you say we must act as our conscience dictates and not browbeat others as it doesn’t make being vegan an attractive choice it makes vegans look militant. I also believe because of global warming and sustainability the whole world will move towards a more plant based diet eventually and that is a scientific fact and not an airy fairy idealism. Thank you for being honest.

I follow you and a lot of other vegan you tubers. I eat a lot of plant based meals but if I eat fully plant based I end up with issues due to stomach and kidney problems I have, and my iron levels were too low for some time and the only way I could get them back up was to start eating some meats again. I appreciate your content because even though I don't 100% follow the same lifestyle as you, it helps me to implement recipes that will work for me and you aren't preachy or judgy like some other people.

Its hard to explain to people why dont feel like im missing out as a vegan oh "its a shame i cant eat that" because my brain says "oh that cake has eggs, thats not food for me".
It's also getting harder to, "miss out" because there's so many new vegan foods coming out all the time. I went vegan 9 years ago, vegetarian before that for about 4 years and I have to say in the last 3 Years or so, it's getting harder to stick to plant based IF I have disposable cash, there's so many vegan versions of things now, it's nice to be able to splash out and try them sometimes. Also, the taste buds really do change, if you eat more wholefoods over time, you want more wholefoods. 😊

If your food was lacking flavour and depth, I have to say that was nothing to do with cutting out animal products - it just needed a bit more research into great vegan recipes and cooking techniques. You can replicate almost everything nowadays.

I believe that every effort counts no matter what so it doesn’t matter if you are vegetarian, vegan, etc however being vegan is a lifestyle- not just a way of eating. It means no leather, no animal products in your cosmetics, etc. A person can’t actually call themselves a “vegan” that way and that’s why I don’t like labels. I simply say I generally don’t eat animal products (90% of the time) however I am not a vegan since I do have leather products in my wardrobe.

I also find the judgement to be frustrating. i recently went out for a work meal and some colleagues challenged me on veganism for a solid 30 minutes. I broke the conversation by saying ' i would never challenge you or ask you to justify your food, i'd just want to you enjoy it'. I was so frustrated. I felt like they were genuinely trying to catch me out. But i am not the person to respond by pointing out the 'flaws' in their choice.

I eat a primarily vegetarian diet and am open to trying new vegan foods! I find your videos inspiring because I find the way you cook at home to be similar to me. I've just passed my 10 year veganniversary and was gobsmacked when you said your period pain stopped when you went vegan because mine did too!! I hadn't thought diet and period pain could be linked but maybe they are?! Curious to know if others have found this as well. I agree with everything you said, especially about the conflicting feelings when around others who are eating meat, and having to choose to dissociate from it because there's not much else you can do about it. ❤❤

I love cooking and there are some amazing dishes I’ve always cooked that I found easy to veganise. I’m 61 and have never felt better emotionally and physically since the switch 9 years ago.

you are 61 which means you are living the bonus years.....as humans we need to consume both plants and animals to stay healthy....if you think plants are not living things then its ok...and to grow your plant based food farmers have to kill and poison every animals and insect in order for you to feel self rightiously good.

I know from a lifetime of eating meat that if someone started judging me I would get really insulted and dig into more meat. However, by watching your videos and educating myself on different animals I have greatly reduced my meat intake naturally. An example I cannot eat pork anymore, I cannot eat beef anymore, and a great many seafoods are out the window. This "soft" education when I watch you is working every day and I am pretty proud of the steps I have taken naturally.
I am 47 and have been vegetarian since I was 12. I was strictly vegan for a portion of that time and aim to be as plant-based as I can. I agree with you that we need to be less judgmental and to be more supportive of each other. I am so glad I saw this video today because I was able to purchase the bundle. I know this will inspire me to be more intentional when eating not only for my health, but also for the health of the planet.

Re travelling: I have been vegan for about 6 years. I used to stress out and starve trying to find vegan food while abroad (to the point it put me off going away in some respect)
Now when I travel - vegan where possible, vegetarian otherwise. It’s made such a huge difference and I know I can sustain this way of life long term ☺️

My dad, a Physician, said my diet would cause deficiency, but that never happened. Menopause happened at 54 for me; and was over quickly. Plant based options are amazing now and creators like y’all have made a HUGELY positive impact. Trying to get my Danish husband to enjoy curries is my lifelong goal… thanks for what you do, you’re making an enormous difference to the planet and to animals everywhere.💚

The thing I miss the most as a vegan is the simplicity of eating out and attending social events without having to scrutinize menus and food selections. That said, like you mentioned, there is so much variety and I am able to recreate pretty much everything that I would have missed the most, so that’s great!
I truly think if more vegans had your perspective and attitude, more people would try it and be more drawn to it. The militant vegans who drive people away with their zero tolerance for error just makes me sad.
Exactly this!!! All the time! Scrutinise the menu and be Scrutinised, had a go at or picked on by others that you don't eat with regularly.. especially on what our children eat! X

I went vegetarian a year ago and now like 60% food I eat is plant-based (can't tolerate lactose much so it narrows things down fast 😄). Your channel and the way you're non-judgmental and welcoming was one of the big reasons I took this step. I wish more people had this sort of mentality. Everything counts, we're not perfect. Judging people for not being 100% vegan, 100% eco, 100% perfect...etc. that just discourages them from trying their best. Thank you for this safe space you've created and happy 10 year anniversary!

I am currently a meat eater. At one time of my life I was a bad vegetarian. I am now considering going plant based. I have purchased the book bundle and will do my research before I make the change. Perhaps a slow transition may be the way for me. I think it's the way of the future because there is more and more choices than there was in past years. I believe it will make it easier. Vegan of 5 years here. No one in my family is vegan, so basically I continue to see meat and all everyday and in my fridge all the time. It's hard, I would 100% prefer to don't have it there, but there's is nothing I can do about it. I really have to switch it off otherwise would be so much harder... 😔

I’ve been a vegetarian for 52 of my 55 years of life. This was my own choice aged 3 - determined little girl I guess lol! It has done me no harm at all, recently had B12 and Iron tested and totally normal. I eat a Mediterranean diet mainly and mostly plant based.

Also, coming up on mine as well. 😊 My vegan journey started when I had had enough of my debilitating period pain and after being told by doctors that there's nothing I can do about it. I decided to go to a Chinese herbologist and ask for period pain tea or medicine, and they didn't have anything. But, then, as I left they ran out the door and asked if I had tried not eating meat. I was already considering going vegan, but they said specifically around ovulation to stop eating meat. So, then and there I decided to just cut meat out all together for a month, just to see. And here I am 10 years later just enjoying normal pain free periods. And also enjoying all the vegan recipes I have found that do not make me miss eating meat one bit. At last someone who talks sense, I am Vegetarian, I tried being vegan when I woke up to the horrors of animal food production, I don’t drink milk and will buy vegan cheese here and there but dairy cheese is sometimes consumed. The vegan journey is personal but I became depressed because it put me under so much pressure to be a perfect vegan. You must do what you think is right for you, my best friend eats meat but we don’t judge one another because as you say we must act as our conscience dictates and not browbeat others as it doesn’t make being vegan an attractive choice it makes vegans look militant. I also believe because of global warming and sustainability the whole world will move towards a more plant based diet eventually and that is a scientific fact and not an airy fairy idealism. Thank you for being honest.

I follow you and a lot of other vegan you tubers. I eat a lot of plant based meals but if I eat fully plant based I end up with issues due to stomach and kidney problems I have, and my iron levels were too low for some time and the only way I could get them back up was to start eating some meats again. I appreciate your content because even though I don't 100% follow the same lifestyle as you, it helps me to implement recipes that will work for me and you aren't preachy or judgy like some other people.

It's also getting harder to, "miss out" because there's so many new vegan foods coming out all the time. I went vegan 9 years ago, vegetarian before that for about 4 years and I have to say in the last 3 Years or so, it's getting harder to stick to plant based IF I have disposable cash, there's so many vegan versions of things now, it's nice to be able to splash out and try them sometimes. Also, the taste buds really do change, if you eat more wholefoods over time, you want more wholefoods. 😊

If your food was lacking flavour and depth, I have to say that was nothing to do with cutting out animal products - it just needed a bit more research into great vegan recipes and cooking techniques. You can replicate almost everything nowadays.

I believe that every effort counts no matter what so it doesn’t matter if you are vegetarian, vegan, etc however being vegan is a lifestyle- not just a way of eating. It means no leather, no animal products in your cosmetics, etc. A person can’t actually call themselves a “vegan” that way and that’s why I don’t like labels. I simply say I generally don’t eat animal products (90% of the time) however I am not a vegan since I do have leather products in my wardrobe.
I bought the bundle even though I already have one of your e-books because it was such an amazing deal! As someone that has an autoimmune issue, eating a high fiber plant based diet is key to me feeling my best. This a new change for me even though I have dabbled in plant based eating for a while now and these recipes have came in clutch during my dietary changes. Thank you!

I also find the judgement to be frustrating. i recently went out for a work meal and some colleagues challenged me on veganism for a solid 30 minutes. I broke the conversation by saying ' i would never challenge you or ask you to justify your food, i'd just want to you enjoy it'. I was so frustrated. I felt like they were genuinely trying to catch me out. But i am not the person to respond by pointing out the 'flaws' in their choice.

I eat a primarily vegetarian diet and am open to trying new vegan foods! I find your videos inspiring because I find the way you cook at home to be similar to me. My husband and I will buy whatever produce we think looks good at the market and find a way to use it all throughout the week depending on what sounds good on a given night/what we have in the pantry. I've just passed my 10 year veganniversary and was gobsmacked when you said your period pain stopped when you went vegan because mine did too!! I hadn't thought diet and period pain could be linked but maybe they are?! Curious to know if others have found this as well.
