Great tutorial using the new prize ribbon distress ink from Tim Holtz; I enjoyed the way you use the background stamps, stencils and mix different products from different designers to come up with all these beautiful cards.
WOW!!! I’ve never seen anyone use as many different products as you just did. Great job, a run for your money. Thank you for sharing, and have s wonderful week.
You are so welcome! I really wanted to show the versatility and how you could use products (or similar products) you already might own with the new color. 💙
Of course you did a perfect job at showcasing the colors. Adore every one of your gorgeous cards. Prize Ribbon is definitely the closest to Blueprint Sketch but lately I have been obsessed w chipped sapphire and prize ribbon really reminds me of Chipped sapphire although different they both have such rich deep bluish almost leaning towards the purple family hues. This may seem out f the blue(no pun intended)Tim Holtz is a genius. What's he's done with distress products has revolutionised the craft industry. The actual chemistry of the products in the distress line are like nothing else. I really appreciate what he's done with the entire distress line always keeping it fresh and new is not easy but he manages to create this excitement and mystique when introducing a new color. XOXO
Beautifully done once again! I loved the butterfly stamp and stencil....went to SSS and stencil is out....lol. I’ll get it once it’s back. Just gorgeous all around! You must be a teacher.... you do so well instructing and your grammar and enunciation is clear as rain! Thank you for sharing! 💕🙋♀️🌴
Really beautiful cards! It’s hard to pick a fav out of them because each one is so lovely. I love the whimsical sea creatures, & then the butterflies are just elegant & stunning, especially the one from Pink Fresh. And you did an amazing job showcasing the new color. Mine will be here Friday & I can’t wait! Thank you for such amazing inspiration.
Well, Nichol, you hit it outta the park with these cards! They are outstandingly beautiful! I especially loved the Gina K glitz glitter. I've never used mine but will definitely use it now!
Nichol this video was fantastic, 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 the only but I have is that after watching it I made a big 💲💲💲 dent in my pocket ordering several of the products used 😂🤣🤪😂. Thanks for keeping it real, and the great inspiration, you make it look fun even if it takes time and some messiness to make those beautiful projects.
WOW - really FANTASTIC, wonderful cards, Nichol!! LOVE this new Tim Holtz color & the variety of cards you made. May favorites are the large butterfly & 'Merry Christmas' !
Hi Nichol 😊 just want to say , you always go so far above and beyond with all of your makes 😊 you are a terrific crafter and I really enjoy watching you 😊😊
Ms Spohr this is awe inspiring. I have not had my creativity engaged like this in a long time. I think when you combined your thought process with multiple ways of creating cards it seems like we are there getting "inky" with you. I know you are demonstrating a new colour today, but could perhaps consider doing this with another colour group like the greens? Rainbows, are beautiful as they are, have been everywhere and it would be wonderful to be taught and inspired by a colour group.
Barcelona said this beautifully and I m in total agreement. Great videos Nichol. So very glad for you, moving up in the industry to be one of the top of inspiring person's on my list. You communicate thought beautifully share insights, your personal creativity, courtesy, kindness and always have your audience forefronted.
When I watched Jennifer’s video Blueprint Sketch and Prize Ribbon looked very similar. Your video, however, you can see the difference. I don’t know if it was her lighting or what but I’m glad I saw yours because I wouldn’t have bought it. Love all your cards especially the butterfly and Christmas one.
You hit it right on the nail! I kept seeing videos and was like Blueprint Sketch and Prize Ribbon are pretty much the same, I agree this video shows the difference.
I love the open grid background. Just the background and sentiment would make a great guy card. You hit it out of the park on showing the new color with the other colors. Thank you.
These are beautiful cards, Nichol! I am a new subscriber and really enjoyed how you showcased all the blues so we can get a good perspective! It is obvious the many hours you put into your crafting!💗
Hahahaha that was funny when you said I had the WILD idea to use text background, air quotes for sure!! But hey it looks so great on your cards!! Thanks for another great video!
Oh. My. Lord. SO much inspiration!!! Blue is my favorite color, so these cards are total eye candy for me! Loving the new Prize Ribbon color, 'need' to order asap! 😍
These are GORGEOUS! In addition to the beautiful ink you've sold me on those PinkFresh Butterflies and Picture Book Sea Creature Dies. So fun! Thanks for all the wonderful variety you've shared.
Oh my goodness Nichol... I just LOVE all of your cards and techniques. The heat embossed butterfly & stenciled coloring, o.m.g I just love it. And the Merry Christmas one with the Gina K glitz glitter gel, is my absolute favorite. You have showcased the new (fabulous prize ribbon) distress color so well.... Awesome work!!
Really liked the way you reviewed the cards & supplies at the end! I'm always very interested in your techniques & design process during the video, so this was an awesome feature that let me do my shopping after enjoying all of your cards. Genius. :o)
This blue is so pretty! And your cards are so fun! You mentioned that some of your oxide inks need re-inking. If you come across one that you need to reink during a project, is this something you would consider showing in a video? I have a few ink pads myself which I feel could do with some more ink, but I’m not sure when to decide if it’s time or how to actually reink them properly
I love the fact that every day you come up with new and innovative card designs and techniques! Do you keep a running list in your computer of your ideas or do you just remember them all? You amaze me!😊
Outstanding cards! All of them are amazing and easy to make. Thanks for sharing your talent. I have a question about stencil brushes …. Do you have different brushes for oxide and dye inks or do you use the same. Also do you have a recommendation for storing them. I know Gina K has a rack but if I have different companies is there a holder that I can get for them. Thanks in advance.
I have a set for Oxides and a set for dyes. I don't mix them. I use the Gina K racks but it you have other companies brushes I've also used racks from this Etsy shop: www.etsy.com/shop/MakeItbyMarko?ref=simple-shop-header-name&listing_id=732154352
Awesome Nichol, as always. Love your teaching. I'm running out of space with all the Distress colors. How do you store the Distress drinkers? There are no tins that they fit in like the others.
Could you tell me what color is closest to royal blue? And would it be in distress ink or distress oxides? I need to color paper to stamp and die cut roses. Blend the color like you did on most of your cards. It’s for a wedding card and album that I’ve never made before or the roses and any of the inking. I’m glad I found your tutorial it was a big help.
Perfect timing! This was my first look at the new color. Love that PFS butterfly set. Definitely on my list now. Do you use Pixie Spray? I always have residue that seems to stick to my cs and I don't love it but I find those delicate stencils tend to shift. All the cards are great!
Have to admit I was a little disappointed that the new color is another blue but prize ribbon is really beautiful. Did you not use chipped sapphire because it’s too violet or do you just not use this color? Just curious. Beautiful cards as always.
Absolutely love Tim Holtz new distress color Prize Ribbon and the beautiful cards you designed in this video!
Thank you & enjoy your weekend! 💙
Thank you so much!
These cards are outstanding, fabulous, gorgeous and fantastic.....pat yourself on the back for showing the technique on each card....well done and TFS
Glad you like them! Thank you for your kind comments Terrie! 💙

Great job in showcasing this new color. I can see the difference between Blueprint sketch & Prize ribbon. TFS

Oh my they're amazing.........your amazing 💖💖💖 what would you say is best to use, distress inks or oxides for blending. Xxx
I like both and alternate between each. Oxides are probably a bit more "forgiving".

GREAT CARDS WITH A GREAT NEW DISTRESS INK.
Thank you so much!
Such beautiful cards! Love each and every one of them.
Thank you!
Wow! This video is a masterclass for backgrounds. Well done! Can you ever have too many text backgrounds? I think not. :)
I agree! Never too many backgrounds!

Hello, Nichol! You started you video the same time Tim Holtz and y'all are talking about the same color. 😆. Great video!
It's brand new today!
Very full video! Thank you.

Thank you so much!
Awesome Nichol, as always. Love your teaching. I'm running out of space with all the Distress colors. How do you store the Distress drinkers? There are no tins that they fit in like the others.
Re-inkers... not drinkers, Ugh!
Tripped up by spell check lol

Perfect timing! This was my first look at the new color. Love that PFS butterfly set. Definitely on my list now. Do you use Pixie Spray? I always have residue that seems to stick to my cs and I don't love it but I find those delicate stencils tend to shift. All the cards are great!
I see lots of crafters using it too, but I find I have the same issues you mentioned. Maybe we are spraying too much onto the stencil. 🤷♀️
@@lisakind I've tried spraying lightly and then it doesn't seem to stick. I guess I thought it would a miracle product.
I sometimes use Pixie Spray but I don't like the residue either. I didn't use Pixie Spray for any of these cards.
I think it’s intended to stay sticky. I don’t like it either because then the stencil is difficult to store.
Have to admit I was a little disappointed that the new color is another blue but prize ribbon is really beautiful. Did you not use chipped sapphire because it’s too violet or do you just not use this color? Just curious. Beautiful cards as always.
I actually don't have the Chipped Sapphire in Oxide! 😱 I went to use it and realized I must never have purchased it!
Outstanding!!! That must have been a very packed eight hours of card making.
Very! ;)
Awesome cards as usual
