I honestly think you may have received a chicken sandwich from Popeyes 😆. I have had their fish sandwich four times already and the breading has a really good amount of Cajun seasoning. It tastes a bit fishy but not overpowering. It’s in my top 3 for fish sandwiches. Hope you get to try it again.
Hahaha I wouldn’t put it past them to do it. They did however put everything in the right packaging and my wife also got one as well and it was the same exact thing lol so we were both just very confused... Haven’t gone back to get one since but you may be right so it’s worth a shot to try again!

Fun fact, cod is in a whole other class than pollack, so don't lump them together. If it is so cheap, how come nobody is offering it as a sandwich anymore? Also, overseasoning a fish sandwich will obliterate all of the natural fish taste, so there is a reason why Popeyes seasons it like it does.

(www.savingseafood.org/science/noaa-says-alaska-pollock-now-a-cod-name-officially-changed-from-theragra-spp-to-gadus/) Aside from that, they’re lumped together because they’re similar in flavor and they’re both white fish. Again, there is a reason why all the fast food places are running to pollock - it is a cheaper fish. I find that that pollock is mushier, less meaty and less flaky than cod. Then again, some of the difference could be that those selling pollock are usually using frozen fish, so there's that. Yeah, I thought Popeyes used enough seasoning to give it a little zing without being overbearing. The biggest problem with that sandwich is the amount of bread and breading on it that tends to dull its flavor somewhat. Cheers!
White Castle fish sliders are really good, and I always got one with other items. You should alwyas be able to get tarter sauce, but may have to ask for it. A good White Castle will have a condiment packet rack near the counter.

We really wanted to do Arby’s but they closed a lot of locations in NJ and the somewhat closest one was closed due to renovations at the time of filming 😭
I happen to be a fan, tend to go for fish sandwiches when ordering fast food to manage calories (somewhat). Thought it would be noteworthy to mention Long John Silver's in this category - never had them, closest one is too far, but interested in seeing if they hold it down.
Fish sandwiches are so underrated on fast food menus...and they definitely are the lower calorie option which is an added bonus. We didn't even think Long John Silvers, it's pretty far away from us too so we couldn't use them as a contender. I'm curious as well to see how they would stack up!
I dunno, but I think Popeye's messed up. The looks like their chicken sandwich. Every other Popeyes review shows the fish being a thin filet and really thick breading, like 2/3 of the patty.
The inside texture was flakey like fish which is why I thought it was... I may have to get it again on my own to be sure though. However from what I’ve seen, Popeyes lacks in consistency with their food across locations, so it could also be a case of that!
It 's a big heavy fillet! Bigger than just about any chain. I almost could not eat all of it...like the chicken sammich! Don't be fooled, it's a heavy fish fillet...
That’s why I was so confused. From photos it looks pretty similar! Lol and it came in the fish packaging with the tartar sauce... so it threw both of us for a loop. We definitely are planning to try and revisit the Popeyes fish sandwich again to further investigate 🧐
Mickie Dees is nostalgia but l used to live in Puerto Rico and there wasn't a a McDonald's anywhere around so that is how l discovered wendy's fish fillet in April and it was delicious then l visited them in May and couldn't wait to eat my sandwich but they only sold them during Easter month great review
A lot of these companies put out the fish options during this time for those who observe lent which is why they’re limited time offerings! But it would be great to have them year round, they’re a highly underrated menu item.
I really think the Bojangles fish sammich is the best. Just order it less the tartar sauce and ask for a cup of their Bo signature chicken sauce. Get a small order of slaw, put some slaw on top of the fish and however much Bo sauce you want. Now that is a great sammich
I unfortunately live in the New Jersey, so bojangles doesn’t have any locations anywhere in my area 😭 But I do travel south from time to time and will have to make sure to try that out when I do!

Popeyes' Flounder tastes too fishy to me. I rather eat cod...
We actually got no fishy flavor at all... but I find Popeyes to sometimes be inconsistent with their food... At least around the ones I’ve been to.
