I wasn’t totally happy with this vlog, it’s stuff and waffle we’ve talked about before, but I put it up anyway. 👍
It was all good.
Just some ideas if you wanted something different. Get a few fellow vloggers and go to the gun range for the day.
Torcher yourself a bit for our entertainment, bungi jump, sky dive, do sumo with female professional sumo fighters, Thailand's version of hot wings with someone live, when your ready to buy a new bike race your old one until it blows. Jump crocodiles on water skis (think of the views) just don't bin it and it'll be all gravy.
this is a great vlog dont worry about it! i enjoyed it quite a bit.
Liked it, like em all 👍🏻
I would rather watch something similar than wait 7 days for another vlog. Keep pumping them out...We will "like" all of them. Another Bobby Dazzler!
@@craigdawson7632🤣🤣 Not for me buddy. Would be abit to fake on my channel. Some funny ideas though. You should work for Mr. Beast . These would be great on his channel . Cheers mate
I have seen many people arrive in Chiang Mai and other parts of Thailand “coming to find themselves”. Change comes if and only when you have a desire to change. If you think that just coming to Thailand is some sort of magic potion which will change you then you are mistaken. Living here in Chiang Mai has definitely changed my way of thinking because I have embraced the culture and a Zen way of life. I came here with a real Western attitude of being above others and it just made me more miserable. Studying Buddhism has helped turn my way of thinking around and now I am enjoying my best life. Another great video Wayne. I really enjoy the walk and talks.
... yes, finding oneself can be very disappointing ...
I like it when you waffle Wayne but everyone I think gets the gist of it,I lived in Phuket 14 yrs, isan 4 yrs , Songkhla 4 yrs in a sea side village no farang .
Cheers Pat mate 👍
Sounds good David, Sea Side village with no farang. Perfect mate.
I enjoy your vlogs Wayne, a lot of useful info here. I have to say that speaking a level of Thai that allows you to have conversation with Thais, definitely enhances ones experiences here. I am not fluent yet, but can hold my own and am pleased I’ve made the effort. For anyone unsure whether to learn……I say do it, you’ll reap the rewards.
Wise words mate 👍
You hit on a ton of stuff I've been thinking about in my own travels lately. Being the foreigner. How as an expat or traveller you'll never fully "belong" within a culture. How that makes you an observer -- there, but sitting somewhere on the "outside" of what is going on around you. And when you're in that place, that limbo, you see humanity and how it is all the same everywhere. People are "on about" (as you'd say) the same things everywhere... trying to find love, raising a family, making a living, trying to please a mother in law, trying to get a mother in law, trying to simply be left alone to observe the world. And it is all beautiful. One of your best vlogs my friend. Cheers!
Thanks for the great comment buddy!
I go from October till April rent a nice condo. Have breakfast of cereal and a coffee then have a walk on the beach layout in the sun. Have some street food as a veggie love Thai food. Go to the market and get fruit and some other bits then go back. Then at the weekend go to one or two sports bars at 6pm for the premier league then go back. Same life as in England but in Bang Saray only difference is I’m in the sun and actually saving money. It can be done I have no inclination to be in Pattaya to party so that’s why I choose a more relaxed life in Bang Saray and friends always visit as it’s cheap no cost accommodation for them😂😎👍
Sounds perfect! I always wanted to go Bang Saray, so I’ll have to check it out one day.
Good vlog again matey, I think there are two modes, when you first come you are in full on “holiday mode” which is great if you are here for two - three weeks, however, once you decide to live here, you need to get out of “holiday mode” and start “living mode” because if you don’t it’s a slippery slope and you will end up sitting in a bar all day and dead by Xmas 😂
“Living mode” is exactly that, you need to start looking after yourself and limit the bar scene to one or two nights a week, get a hobby, exercise everyday, walking and eating healthy, then start to emerge yourself slowly into the culture, you will get good and bad advice from expats and locals, but it’s up to you to learn from mistakes you make (been here 15 years and made loads of mistakes 😂).
Keep up the good work Wayne and look forward to your next vlog buddy, take it easy 👍🏻
Thanks mate! You hit the nail on the head with this comment.
Speaking as someone who is planning to move to Jomtien in 18 months or so, I will do well to remember this advice/comment.
@KieranWxm stay out of the bars and get into a daily routine including exercising and you'll be off to a good start
I am so glad you did post this video,we all need to respect each other’s cultures
Thanks Beverly.
Beautiful location that Wayne. You've pretty much covered it. It's OK for those on their annual leave from a Foreign country where they set out to empty the sack of cash before they leave BUT for sure when one relocates to Thailand then things really so have to change. It is a whole new ball game. Great video mate. Cheers!! 🤩
Nice one Steven mate.
Spot on! I relearned a lesson about spending in Thailand on my recent trip. Everything is so much cheaper than in the States that I was buying left and right. Taking the wife's family out for dinners and picking up the tab. Before I knew it, I had burned through my vacation budget with a few days still left. Not a big deal as a few trips to the ATM fixed me right up, but I couldn't do that if I lived there. There has to be an adjustment from holiday mode to real life. On another note, I gained a whole new level of respect for you vloggers. I tried to do one while I was there. Just a short one in Saraphi to show my family. Ten minutes later, I was covered in sweat and had spotted three questionable looking soi dogs down the street from me. I gave it up, turned around and headed back to home base. And that was the end of my vlogging career. LOL.
Nice one Earl, true words mate. I'm sure you'd be a great vlogger also mate but the heat is a obstacle when out and about, that's for sure.
You definitely should give Albania a try. At least for a trip. My ex is from there and apart from Thailand it’s one of my favorite countries. Beaches and mountains and awesome people. The people are welcoming there and it’s easy to have a chat with strangers even when they can’t speak proper English. That’s what I am missing here in Thailand. Thais tend to be more introvert. The fun part is lacking in Albania maybe a bit, but every country has is up and downsides.
I’ve been watching vloggers in Albania for years now, it looks great and still cheapish. I definitely want to visit Albania. Like you said, nowhere has that same magic as Thailand though. Thanks
You can't stress these points enough. Good job mate!
Thanks buddy
very good advice...applies to anyone moving to any foreign country e.g. foreigner coming to the UK 👍
Yes, 100%. Thanks 🙏
Hey Wayne! First of your vlogs I watched and it's so right on! I also have a YT channel and have been living here in Pattaya for 18 months. I have my own screwups too! Have lost 500K baht at least from hustles and scams! Now I have a better understanding of how to survive here! Good work and I subscribed!
Hey buddy, thanks for watching. I hope life in Pattaya is good. We all make this mistake but the good thing is we learn. Sorry to hear that you lost money 😦. Hope all is well mate 👍
Important topic!
And your experience and wisdom is essential!
Thanks for sharing
Thanks Charles 🙏
Lovely gaff mate,...
You always have important things to say,.... good stuff,...
Thank you buddy 👍
Wise words. I ve been following your vlogs, and this place is a nice walkabout. I guess it's in a humid period. Now, has the rain come, or is that to follow . Take it easy
Thanks! It’s actually a bit cooler now in the rainy season but the rain does ramp up the humidity . Yes, rainy season now but worse to come.
Wayne, I enjoyed this video. Thank you for sharing. I am looking forward to my return to Chiang Mai in October.
Thanks you! Hope you can get back to Chiang Mai real soon 👍
When you travel, do ya homework on the country you are visiting....not hard....respect the destination 👍🏻
Can't argue with that 👍
Good thoughts...like the Aupairs in England during -70's 😂 I got a lovely londoner boyfriend, met him in one of 7000 pubs back then, next year we have our 49th Anniversary..so it can work out👍😉
🤣🤣 That’s great to hear! Yes it definitely can work out, just like my friend Ian. Thanks
Great cold Wayne, very interesting.
Can I request a vlog please? Been thinking about relocating to Thailand for years as you know, what I’d like to know is what rights/privelidges you lose when you the uk for a certain amount of time, ie nhs , state pension, right to vote etc etc, cheers mate, keep em coming 👍🏻
Thanks buddy! I think many vlogs about that on RUclips but maybe it’s something I could do in the future. 👍
Good vlog Wayne, there's nothing wrong about it. You just expressed yourself and the way you feel.
Thank you 👍
Any vlog you do mate I am willing to watch keep them coming mate love from the UK 🙏👍
Thank you mate 🙏
Good chat WW - plenty of mistakes by us all , people
Come and go ,
But yes the enchanting beauty of a lady is a challenge in itself 🤩 - Thanks my friend 👍👋✔️🙏
Cheers Ant! Yes, the power of a beautiful lady is a man's weakness.
`Better to stay home and marry a local gal, wont lose a cent in the divorce, plus theyre enchantingly gorgeous in the UK
Thanks for the upload and your wisdom
Cheers mate
Very good points to take on board Wayne, Language and culture are important to understand, nice spot up there, have you visited Vietnam up north, Hanoi and the Coast/Bays? Vietnamese women seem very Feminine on the videos i have seen
Cheers mate. I’ve never been North Vietnam, only mid Vietnam. I always have a great time there 👍
I've never heard of this place - Beautiful! It seems Thailand has changed a great deal in the last 20 years in terms of development.
I lived in Thailand for about 2 years in 2004-2006. I was teaching there.
One of my struggles was the habit of wanting to go out all the time!
For example, I always liked to go to the bars and chat with the ladies!....LOL
I know, a typical farang! It's not the drinking or the ladies, it's more the sabai-sabai vibe
you get addicted to - everyone smiling and nice. On another channel, someone mentioned your endorphins are running higher in Thailand, which is why like myself, people get addicted to going out and eventually if they can't manage it, into trouble.
Reflecting on this, if I give it another go, I would have to find some hobbies and also a nice thai lady...LOL. I would try to find a lady that has an established career and comes from a family that is established too. So I don't fall into any pitfalls ( which I haven't before fortunately).
And then in terms of work, I may go back to teaching or some form of being a Digital Nomad there. I heard they recently pushed out new visa regulations for Nomads.
Hi, thanks for the great comment. Alot of people have the same problems when living in Thailand. It's not easy to keep away from the bars and women. If you have a good mindset and have some hobbies, you can live a good life. Ofcourse, we all like a good night out sometimes though. I hope it all works out for you buddy. Thanks.
Always enjoy your Xmas mornings there Wayne. Living in a country with a language barrier would be the major hurdle for most, then throw in beautiful, friendly women, cheap commodities, bars, bargirls, intense heat. What could go wrong?🤣🤣
Everytime I come Ang Kaew it reminds me of the Xmas walks. Won’t be long until I’m doing it again. Yes, what could possibly go wrong in Thailand 🤣. Cheers mate
notice, accept, learn & adapt or leave!!! Their Country, Their Rules! just as you expect others to adapt who move to your country!
Along those lines mate. I think Thailand has some room for errors but spot on really mate.
A leisurely stroll by lakes and you're absolutely soaked; to me that says it all.
Just another day in paradise 👍
Lovely area Wayne 👍
Yes, they are so lucky having a University like this
Good advice, lovely little park there too. I've definitely heard of Portugal and Croatia as good landing spots, but that is the first I've heard of Albania as a retirement destination.
Cheers mate! Lot's of people are heading to Albania. I think the US get a 1 year visa.
When I think of Christmas day walks in the UK ... cold, miserable, windy, grey, housing estates versus warmth, beautiful lakes and countryside... I wannnnnnaaaaaa get to Chiang Mai soon as poss! 🌴☀😎
Yes, it's definitely a little different here on Xmas morning. It's so nice sitting at this place and watching the sun come up on Xmas morning. Get yourself over here mate.
6 years in CM. Like it but don't love it. But no plans to move anytime soon. Too lazy to move 😁
At least you're honest 👍
Hi Wayne,
Thats mine favorite place where you now I do my walking every morning when I am in Chiangmai . You have a point not everybody can handle Thailand you can not always live in a party bubble sometimes its boring like the same as home but that's normal do some activities like biking ore whatever and try to make contact whit the local people the most people in Chiangmai a very friendly but have to make the first step .
Ang Kaew Is a nice place to chill with amazing scenery. Wise words mate, thanks for the comment 👍
People seem to struggle with getting out of holiday mode & getting into normal life mode.
I, like you Wayne, have seen 1st hand many struggle with this.
Women & booze are ALWAYS their downfall.
Yes, I thinks that’s right. Getting past that party mode is the hardest for most people. Thanks
These are good thoughts Wayne. It is like checking in with a friend to see how they are getting on only the friend is ourselves. And you are right beautiful place and I think your girl friend pulled behind you as this video was closing out . 😅
Haha my thoughts exactly 😂
Nice one mate! Not sure about the Girl, I’ll have to watch it back.
So many opinions on Thailand. I guess the best thing is to experience it yourself.
That could be a winner. Everyone will still have an opinion though. 👍
Very true words mate 😊
Cheers Dave.
That is a beautiful area in your video. Are you in Chiang Mai? I was in Chiang Mai last November and I would have loved to see that area. Keep up your great videos. Take care.
Yes, I am in Chiang Mai. Thanks.
@@WalkAboutWayne Thanks. I will have to make it a point to see that beautiful park when I return to Chiang Mai in October. Safe travels.
The saying goes "when in Rome"
Very true 👍
For the girls in the massage at Loy Kroh or Kampangding road we are the man of their dreams . Unfortunatly for us this relationship end in a real nightmare. I know what I'm speaking of 😣😅
🤣🤣 Hope it wasn't to bad for you.
I'm still not really over it and I'm dare to come back to this beautiful city
Good talk 👍😎
Cheers mate.
The dream? Where ever you go there you are.
If only life was that easy, ay .
It's a shame people don't learn the English culture before they come to England.
True, works both way I suppose
... but Thais get no Visa exemption or tourist visa on arival ...
Have tried going fishing there mate could be good content and relaxing
Can’t fish here mate. Would be nice to know what in the reservoir though 👍
Communication is not all about language
It’s a massive part of it though 👍
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone...
Classic 👌
When the money runs out she runs out.
Something like that.
Wayne were you get you money from ?
The Bank🤣
Again what’s the matter with partying everyday as long as you’re not drinking a gallon of liquor what’s the problem,I’ll wait?
Partying without Drinking 🤣 I’ll go partying and just have a light ale pal 🤣
Why is it always considered a sin if you’re spending a lot of money if you have it do it live your best life!
You don’t get the message buddy.
@@WalkAboutWayne yeah you either have money or you don’t that’s the message..
@@dantheman11121 No mate, the message is, you don't have to spend lot's of money every day in Thailand. a misconception about spending money.
@@WalkAboutWayne or you can spend lots of money in Thailand every day if you have the money, again what’s your point?
@@dantheman11121 Point is simple buddy, you don't need to assume you need to spend lot's of money every day. All simple stuff really. You can spend loads of money if you want. The point is, don't assume you have too. 👍
they dont drink enough COFFEE!!!
Nobody touches the stuff mate
Common sense man.
Mostly buddy 👍
Mugs and simpletons settling down with these Thais simply facts
🤣🤣🤣
I have no idea what language that guy speaking but it is not english.
Tis my mother tongue my boyo.
