I don’t know how this channel is not bigger than it is. I’m very thankful for these two. I’ve enjoyed seeing these places and learning. God bless them and I hope they are healthy and doing well.
@@BucketListTravellers really good, if i was being constructive, i'd suggest invest in a 360 camera, theyre reasonably priced now and when youre walking it makes the video super smooth! It can stabilise it perfectly as it has the whole 360* to use. Also maybe, half the chapters, i appreciate the effort but i think if it was more concise it would be more user friendly
Hey Scott, thanks for watching! Carcassonne was such a cool experience. You can do it in a day, however if you stay the night, make sure you check out one of the many Michelin rated restaruants around the city too! Have a great trip.
Thank you so much for a nice and informative sightseeing. I`ve been there years ago and I vill visit Carcasonne again. Loved it! At that time I was there, I didn`t focused så much about all history behind the place but a very strange thing as I experienced inside me - Got an extremely strong feeling that I`ve lived there once upon a time. You can call it dèjá vu. Very nice trip by you two by video! I felt so happy to watching your trip
Hi Mary, we are so glad to hear that you enjoyed coming along with us on our walking tour. Dèjá vu is a funny thing and we've experienced it more than once too!
Wow! You two do the absolute best walking tours! I didn’t want it to end! Thank you for all the information and a beautiful escape! Fantastic video! ~Cara 😊
Awww, thanks so much Cara! 😃😃Carcassonne was such a pretty place to visit and we were so lucky to have it nearly all to ourselves. It had such a fascinating history and it is amazing how intact the castle city is. Thanks for watching!
Enjoyed your walking tour, thank you! I’m currently reading the Languedoc Trilogy by Kate Mosse. It’s a fictional story using true historical information about that region, and the concentric circles were a Cathar sign; a type of labyrinth. I wonder if the art installation used the concentric circles in hommage to the Cathars who were exterminated there? I do like the way it looks, even though I tend to be a purest when it comes to historical renovations. Hope you’re enjoying new adventures 🙂
Hi Kimberly, thanks for watching and we are so glad to hear you enjoyed our walking tour. We like your hypothesis about the circles! We also like the way that it looks.
Thanks for the informative video! I’m going to Carcassonne this summer and your video has been very helpful. I’ll be going together with my 80-year-old mother, so I’m wondering if it’s possible to get some kind of ride to the top for her. She wouldn’t be capable of walking uphill that distance. Any info you could provide would be greatly appreciated!
You're most welcome! There is a back entrance (Where Dame Carcas statue is seen in our video ruclips.net/video/vwmErQ0EuEM/видео.htmlsi=UylZ6ibWbCHyVlO5&t=1174) that is next to a car park, so you should be able to get a lift to that car park and walk straight in without much hassle. Unfortunately the entrance that we first entered the castle town can only be accessed by a relatively steep walkway, so that might be tough for your mother. Enjoy your trip!
Thanks for watching Violeta! We booked an airbnb apartment in the town area of Carcassone (the other side of the river to the Castle town). The airbnbs were priced pretty well compared to hotels, there were plenty of good options for around 40EUR/night. We decided to splash out and got a really luxurious airbnb for 70EUR.
Hi Me! Yes, that is probably perfect. You have time to explore the castle town at your own pace and can also treat yourself to a Michelin star restaurant for dinner!
This was late December 2021 and probably around 10-12am in the morning from memory. It was a great time to visit because you had the castle town to yourselves pretty much. That may have also been a function of being during covid as well.
Violet Leduc ré made Notre Dame de Paris roof too. He added gargoyles and the spire and the appostoles statues on it (wich one has Violet Leduc's face ; the one who looks at the top of the spire). Luckily, the statues were just taken off for restauration à few Days before the fire !
Viennoiseries name come from Vienna in Austria, because they were inventez there. Croissants are a remembrance of the time Austria army won over thé Ottoman army who had invade them. (the croissant for the islamic flag). Besides i think it may have come with Austrian Queen of France Marie Antoinette
This is so interesting, thanks for sharing Christine! It is so fascinating to understand how past events have impacted French cuisine. We were very curious about viennosoiseries, given the 'Vienna' name and that most people associate them with France.
😂😂 Funnily enough, we prefer not to hang with Aussies when travelling either! There is the main town area of Carcassonne down the hill from the Castle town and it is really nice. We stayed there for a week.

You are incorrect about Catharism. The belief is that Jesus is God and the Devil rules the Earth. Bad mistake.

Thanks so much for the encouragement Tater Tot, your comment made our day.😁 Glod bless you too!

Thanks for this video - you convinced us to visit it and may be more
You are most welcome @robertoposa1129
As a French, thank you for your visit. And I appreciate that you focus on the rural and medieval world, rather than Paris.
Thank you for watching. Yes, people are missing out on so much if they only visit Paris, there is so much more to France than that!
@@BucketListTravellers And I imagine for Australia too ^^ There's more than Sydney.

7:50 // People from around the world come to be seasick at Carcassonne's Porte de l'Aude
🤢. Not the most stable footage there, we should recommend ginger tablets for watching our videos! Thanks for making it to 7:50 though!

Hi, do you reckon 2 nights (1 full day) is enough to spend here?

Hi Christine, that is really interesting, thanks for sharing! That was lucky with the gargoyles!
Bran Castle lies in the hills of Romania.
Some people believe that Count Dracula once lived there!
Did they film Dracula here as well? We think Romania would be really interesting to visit.
Dracula wasn't filmed at the castle.
Worth a vist to Romania.

Robin Hood.
Prince of Thieves 1991.
Alan Rickman as The Sheriff of Nottingham.
Sean Connery as His Majesty King Richard the 1st. The Lionheart.
Rickman died of Cancer.
Yeah that was sad. We really liked him as an actor.
That is pretty cool that they filmed it there!
Thanks.
Jack Wild himself died of Cancer.
There is too little history; much about the availability of restos & shops. meh. Play @ 1.25 speed, no sound
Hi Holeshot hunter, thanks for your feedback. We'll make sure we balance out the history and other commentary in future videos.
ARE THERE ACTUALLY HOUSES WHERE ORDINAIRY PEOPLE LIVE, THOSE THAT
