  • For use with the Beyond Bum-Ditty lesson. Julianne Johnson played slowly twice and then at speed, using the syncopation discussed in the lesson. The original lesson has two parts:
    Part 1: • Lesson: Beyond bum-dit...
    Part 2:
    • Lesson: Beyond bum-dit...

This video and the one preceding it just absolutely took my playing to another level. Thank you. I'm sorry BanjoMeetsWorld is no longer active. You're a great teacher, you expand the banjo landscape--oh, and you're absolutely adorable on camera. If you ever need a place to crash in Tucson, you're welcome to stay with us.

Revisiting this video; one of my faves. I wonder what Cathy is up to these days...I loved her 'world' approach to the banjo.

This is great piece of teaching and playing. Thank you. And there are some lovely weird haunting overtones I’m hearing in the B part. Can’t wait to find out what those are all about.

Great tune and wonderful pop in the rhythm .. I like the tar paper keeping your wood dry as well . Sorry we missed seeing your dog ! If you are near New England it would be fun to get together and play .. Im In Connecticut and have a pottery shop .
I do a lot of rhythm work with my pinky and chord washes as well that way . All the best , Guy

those were great lessons! I'm a firm believer in making a song, yours. As much as I try, I just can't force myself to a straight bum-ditty with the thumb. I have to alternate. Might come from years of guitar and the Doc Watson 2 finger style which transfers to Banjo nicely.
