This video and the one preceding it just absolutely took my playing to another level. Thank you. I'm sorry BanjoMeetsWorld is no longer active. You're a great teacher, you expand the banjo landscape--oh, and you're absolutely adorable on camera. If you ever need a place to crash in Tucson, you're welcome to stay with us.
This is great piece of teaching and playing. Thank you. And there are some lovely weird haunting overtones I’m hearing in the B part. Can’t wait to find out what those are all about.
Thanks .This is a very popular tune in Connecticut. I love the term "Back up and push" for this attack .. This was fun to play along to .. IF you are ever in Litchfield county stop by my pottery for some tunes . Yours Guy
Great tune and wonderful pop in the rhythm .. I like the tar paper keeping your wood dry as well . Sorry we missed seeing your dog ! If you are near New England it would be fun to get together and play .. Im In Connecticut and have a pottery shop . I do a lot of rhythm work with my pinky and chord washes as well that way . All the best , Guy
those were great lessons! I'm a firm believer in making a song, yours. As much as I try, I just can't force myself to a straight bum-ditty with the thumb. I have to alternate. Might come from years of guitar and the Doc Watson 2 finger style which transfers to Banjo nicely.
I sent you a video response to thank you for recording this. I learnt it a few days ago from this video. If you have a chance to review it im always up for pointers. I have been playing claw hammer for about a year now. Thanks again.
o' wow, you are a great teacher!!... but i am totally stuck at 1:06 i cant figure out what string and what fret you're hammering on/ puling off...can you help me. thanks for you great sharing. i live in chinas western yunnan province...lots of old time music here but not, the appalachian kind...so your'e a valuable resource!
I love the way you play the brush stroke in this tune.
Revisiting this video; one of my faves. I wonder what Cathy is up to these days...I loved her 'world' approach to the banjo.
