We need to get Kanye into therapy, or Derapy, whichever heals quicker. Vultures was straight ass, but my girl's thicker. There... I wrote a better bar than Kanye did this entire album.
About the reference thing. The kind of woman that look at Ye rn and think " yeah i want a long term relationship with him" is so "out there" that we can't really evaluate if she would be bothered by it or not lol. And hey, don't tell people to make beats, last time someone said that the whole internet reunited to stomp on him with said beat
I swear man, I'm getting so tired of Ye wasting really good production (beats wise) on these half baked concept albums Vultures 1 and 2 could have easily been MBDTF 2 and 3, but Ye couldn't give less of a shit anymore. The old Kanye (pun intended) is still in there, but Ye keeps strangling him and forcing us to watch it happen. Salute 🫡 Derapy and everyone listening!
I personally feel like we’re in the era of great production being wasted on nonsense lyrics even outside of Kanye. It’s not even like the production is just carrying nahhh it’s becoming a whole waste at this point, please somebody else come remix this shit or something
I think the other thing too is that supposedly, he’s addicted on nitrous oxide rn. Even tho it’s on him for letting himself be exposed to that by his dentist, it is affecting his creativity and mental status, since it does fuck with one’s brain activity.
MBDTF and everything after Graduation was a concept album which came out and was initially panned because it detracted from his previous albums. Each album only has a few good tracks unless it is a collaboration. By the way Kanye has always been corny but different things and levels are corny. For example the first 3 albums are literally about leaving University while everything on the market was gangster rap. However during this point he was working closely with an album he had been aspiring to join since he was a kid. Nobody told this guy you can have a bad song let alone an album so he became the contrarian to get attention.
I feel like these beats are a downgrade from his previous work. Like compare these beats to the ones he did in the early 2000s. The beats on Vultures don’t even come close. He’s running out of ideas, because he went from crate digging to sampling Black Sabbath and Donna Summer.
This is slightly unrelated, but whenever I hear ty dolla $ign's voice all I can think of is his 2014 XXL freshman freestyle and how close he is to the camera
I blame people who continue to gas Kanye up and say things like “He’s a genius”, “Those who get it, get it” or “You won’t get it until he’s gone.” Kanye has consistently put out albums that sound like a PCP induced fever dream for the past few years. I think he’s in a room somewhere laughing at his fanbase. They continue to gas him, so they continue to get trash.
13:25 this is a scene from dogma a Kevin Smith film about a woman who is sent on mission to stop two angles from re-entering heaven. That scene in particular concludes with Chris Rock's character Rufus falling from the sky.
I think because it’s a line that can be interpreted in many ways “BBTBNWDJFOTSKYK” can be seen as Ye bragging about his girl to others. “BBTBNWDJFOTSKYK” can be seen as Ye mourning the loss of his girl in a tragic sense. “BBTBNWDJFOTSKYK” acknowledges how superficial Ye can be, highlighting potential underlying issues in the relationship which is only multiplied by the inherent silliness of the line that portrays Ye as someone who’s incredibly childish, highlighting even more of his faults by making fun of himself. “BBTBNWDJFOTSKYK”’s childishness also highlights the tragedy of the breakdown of the relationship as it emphasizes how much of a childhood dream it was for Ye (a porn addict from early childhood) to be with this kind of woman only for him to completely fumble the bag with her. For that, it’s one of my favorite tracks from this whole vultures era. (Not a huge compliment but a compliment nonetheless.)
What pains me the most about this album is the potential it had to be a great album. There are so many ideas on here that could be great if developed more, instead Ye just had to shit on this album with half assed performances and bad lyrics. The same could be said for Vultures 2
vultures 1 & 2 gotta be the biggest letdowns in kanye's career honestly i only started listening to rap like 3 or 4 years ago and these were the first albums i experienced him dropping where i was actively listening to rap and man was it disappointing for him to drop a straight 2 pack of mid 💔
