I feel the same for most Alfas . Their focus is on driving and for this I don't have qualms.. your exhaust is not as sweet sounding as the stock but thanks for the effort to make others understand the magic of the brand
People call the gtv a baby ferrari. An insult to alfa as they were racing years before Ferrari made cars. Enzo ferrari worked and raced for alfa before he went on his own even using alfas race cars before he made his own. Ferrari are the babies when mentioned against alfa
Grazie Alfredo! Good thinking too. I agree that if Enzo didn’t race the best race cars of that time - Alfa Romeo, - he might’ve never gotten inspired to establish his own company. Although I’ve deep respect for his engineering talent and the fact that he was much more of an artist (artisan at least) than businessman as he treated his company the same - atelier (not a factory) where they craft exclusive racing machines, which explains why he didn’t sell it to Ford and why some civil models were quite bad - all that being said - Alfa has it’s own glorious history, incredible (sometimes impossible to imagine and ingenious) engineering and the only “baby-ish” thing it has is the price, when compared to Ferraris 😁
@@MotoringBug yes very true, the biggest difference nowadays between the two is the price. Ferrari is probably seen by most especially to those who are unaware of Alfa's glorious history, as the the more premium brand. However, in my eyes the gtv especially in the gtv cup form is the most beautiful car ever to be penned and hit our streets and that for me is priceless.

After owing 8 Alfas since I was in my early 20s and I am now 64, yes I too can confirm I am also an Alfaholic. My current Alfa is a ‘69 Giulia Super. While I havn’t driven it for quite a few years I still am glad I have it. I am also infected with the Ducati virus and have a need to get another bike to replace my previous Ducati which was stolen and destroyed. Ahh such is life. 😁

😁, thanks, and yes the Giulia will get driven. I just need time some money etc to sort it out. So, in total I have owned 3 Giulia’s, 2L Berlina, S1 1750 GTV, Alfetta 1.8 Gt, Alfetta 1.8 sedan, 156 2.0 Jts Sportwagon. The GTV I owned for 12 years before selling it, which in hindsight was a must a mistake given how expensive they are now. I also in some ways regret selling my 156 as it really was a practical and enjoyable car. Sadly the person I sold the car to had a an accident and it was written off. My Ducati was a red Monster 620ie with only 22,000kms in perfect condition. The bastards whole stole it stripped it for parts and threw away what they couldn’t sell. It broke my heart. I will get another Ducati when I can. I bought a yacht last year and this soaked up spare funds, so no bike yet. Over the years I have driven so many Alfas, including Duetto/2L spider, 1600 Gt Veloces, 33, Giulietta/75, Alfetta GTV6, 916 series spider, 2L coupe and GTV6. So yes I am infected with the Alfa virus. My brother is currently building a Giulia Super up for classic rallying/track days and has a bunch of other Alfas, ditto my brother in law also has a Giulia Super. 😁 Lastly yes I have subscribed to your channel. Keep going with it mate, it’s always good to see what people are doing with their cars.
Beautiful Gtv. And same color as mine I think, Rosso Proteo? You captured the pleasure and pain of these cars quite well. She is like an expensive mistress. You can't help spending all your money on her because she looks and sounds so good and the way she makes you feel like a hero 😅 Ps. Try get mic closer to your mouth for better sound😊
I had one of these with the same engine for one summer, and the first thought that came to mind after buying it was "jesus, I must have gone mad" Surely a special car with "special" running costs. I think the engine needs to come out even for a belt change. My clutch immediately tried to exit the transmission, fitting a new one is 2000€ xD I was kinda happy to see it gone, but it sure was pretty and sounded great. Even the license plate had the letters for "ENVY" in it, kinda fitting xD
Thank you for the comment! I’m sorry you had to part with your Alfa, but I hope you’ll keep good memories. They are more humans then cars therefore pragmatism, i.e. maintenance cost per mile wouldn’t ever work. Only irrational purchase and ownership works 😊
Thank you! I'd love to tell you, but honestly I have no idea :)) They were installed by previous Japanese owner and I inherited them with the car. But work good and show minimal wear so far.
@@MotoringBug Just as a friendly advice the engine sounds like it has a collapsed hidraulic lifter. It has a pretty bad tick to it. Get that checked out.

Im a alfa nut too , the sound of the v6 realy is a symphony..i currently have 2 gt's they are the diesel variants im going to be fitting a new clutch in my latest one in the next few days outside in the cold and im 70 yrs old, if it was another car i wouldnt be bothering , my afa is my lover too...keep up the good work, im looking forward to seing more videos...
