I had exactly the same issue! I reached for the obvious "Use the USB cable work around", but I didn't have a standard USB to USB-C cable handy and I live an hour away from the nearest store! So I continued to try to make it work through the SD Card. Ultimately I discovered that if you press downward on the protruding end of the card it will finally recognize the card (e.g. the pins aren't making contact normally). The next issue I discovered is that you will need to KEEP PRESSING DOWN on the SD card or the print will eventually fail as it can no longer read from it. I worked around that issue with a piece of gorilla tape wrapped around the top of the protruding edge of the SD card and adhering it to the bottom edge of the chassis module under tension (as well as the desk), and then adding more tension by pressing the tape against the side of the chassis module. I am almost done with my first print now. Hope this helps someone!
Interesting, you got this to work, I bought a usb c stick to see if I could use it the same way as the sd card but it doesn't see the usb c stick for some reason.
I'm having the same issue. When I unscrewed the bottom of the base, I found a tiny spring rolling inside. Looks like it jumped out from the SD card slot when I first tried to pull in the sd card the normal way - downside (and it is not my fault). Creality, that's a shame on you.
@@zer0g0 Flip over the printer, there are several screws there on the bottom plate. Unscrew them and remove the bottom plate. Then you will see the insides of the printer. You will probably need to remove the vertical bars together with the extruder, otherwise you will not be able to lay it down on the printing table (flip over). I hope it helps.
Yo lo que hice fue desarmarla y con los dedos aplastar un poco donde va la sd y ya funciona normalmente what I did was disassemble it and with my fingers crush a little where the sd card goes and it works normally
You can thank Creality's stupidity for this. They installed the SD card reader upside down by design so what likely happened to you is what happens to everyone else that has your problem, you inserted the SD card in right side up the first time and broke the reader lock. Some really stupid people working at Creality
You should learn how to edit your videos! Anyway, I have the same problem, it's rather counter intuitive to have a card insert upside down & I inserted mine normally & broke the little lock system. I imagine that's what you all did! Anyway I guess we need to replace our sd card readers. What a disappointment on the first day of receiving the printer. Ps: why the hell is the reader upside down??
Well at least this helped me notice the card goes in upside down.
ahh crap, i was doing this too lolol. just spent an hour trying to figures it out
Yeah same problem here! Why would they do that?

Tank you, this actually solved my problem too. 🤙🏻
Thanks :D

I formatted the SD, updated cura and renamed the file. Here it works again.
Me too - same problem ... By the way: the boot-time would be shorter if you boot without the card ...
Just met similar issue. Card is not reading even through USB-C SD Card adapter :( So sad.

how do i unscrew it?

I have to plug it in the other way around, it only works then!
This is absurd, at first I thought it was not good!
Who did you contact I got the same issue I got mine out of micro center

They are sending a new motherboard.
you just have to put it in until it makes a click but I have issues too it wont read my card aswell
There is no click, there is nothing. We determined it was defective and replacement board is in its way.
