Not to mention the Faculty of Fine Arts, Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU). Their Navratri festivities are impressive and attract people from all over the country. Raja Ravi Varma was patronized by the Gaekwad family. The Gaekwads built the Lakshmi Vilas Palace. It is reputed to have been the largest private dwelling built until that time, and four times the size of Buckingham Palace.
