This is great info. I am planning on making all my own larger indoor tanks with this style. I have been very nervously trying to find a way that is tested and that will actually show me the products used so thank you.
I just bought a giant second-hand fish tank instead and built a wooden frame around it but thats a still a good demonstration how its meant to be done.
Hi looking to do a similar job in the UK. Did you just over lap the liner into the window frame then glue/seal the window into the opening then fully seal the back edges?
I am following your videos to build my pond in fl . Is it possible to get a little more info on installing the window. Im watching the vids and thats the only part that needs clarification for me.. after the underlayment n the pond liner is put in , do u stick the pond liner to the edges of the window frame before placing the window? Do u hold the window in place after u apply the silicone?
Hello, yes I stuck the pond liner to the frame so it doesn't move. Only minimal silicone was used at the corners. Apply applying silicone and placing the glass. I have used a piece of timber to hold the glass from falling back. Glass was placed in the window frame I have created.
Hi mate, it would have costed me somewhere between 4-5 grand. Expensive part of this build was glass and pond liner. Timber prices have gone up in AU and would have costed me around 1 grand. I did overkill it though. Thank you for your feedback
Hello, Glass is 25mm toughen and laminated. Cost me AUD 784 at that time. Bought it locally in Melbourne. I don't exactly remember the company. Did a good search and found a few suppliers, and I just picked one with a cheaper quote.
Professional Water Pump Supplier! 3 years warranty ! CHS-30000 DC 36V variable frequency DC pump, New product of 25-160CBM/h will be lunched to market soon.
This pond is so amazing! I've just been to B & Q in the UK to start ours tomorrow morning! Quick question if you don't mind... What is the purpose of the insulation inbetween the MDF and the cladding? It doesn't get too hot or too cold in the UK really so not sure if I would require it. Unless it aids with the moisture control? Thanks! :)
Hi mate, its my first pond build so can't say anything based on experience. But added styrofoam so reduce heat transfer which inturns will reduce moisture transfer. Hope it make sense
I am not an expert. I did it the way I felt was right to do. My first pond, of course, has been up for 2 years now without any issues. Appreciate your time
Omg cnt belive thats your first I'm on my 4th nd having real trouble for over 2 years on my windows thort it was sorted transfered all fish took down old 1 and then it broken the cross supports splut and leaking all around my left window can't get it sealed for the life of me poor fish now in shty plastic pond y look to restart this 😒 following I think mayb need to do just found ur vid
Hey mate, sorry to hear that you have had a bad experience. Mine is year and half old now and doesn't have any issues. Hopefully, you find this video helpful.
Why would you put the ridge side of the decking timber facing out? If you were going to use corner pieces as trim, you should have cut the horizontal pieces shorter instead of screwing the corner trim on top of it and having it stick out. The corners could have also been ripped down on a 45° angle to make a decent looking finish instead of just butting them together. Also there are plenty of cheap silicone finishing tools out there to use instead of a pencil.
Great, thanks for posting. I am starting a water wall with projected spillways and glass trough. This is inspirational.
Appreciate your positive feedback and wish you all the best with your project
@fishaholic I'm in california wondering where you order the glass from?
Hi John, I ordered the glass locally in Melbourne
Very cool work, its going to be great looking through that big window
Thanks Genie, once I build a filter then might add some Orandas in the pond.

Amazing job.
How do you install the liner?
Do you glue it together in the corners as to not have any folds?
Awesome work. What’s type of glue you are using for the pond glass to stick on ? Why there are two blue plastic piece at the bottom? Thank you
Hi Ryan, adhesive is idealseal ms290. Thank you for your feedback
I used shims to raise the glass temporarily so I could squeeze IN some sealant
Hi looking to do a similar job in the UK. Did you just over lap the liner into the window frame then glue/seal the window into the opening then fully seal the back edges?
Thats right, glass is sealed to the glass and all the gaps between glass and window frame filled with the sealant.
Congratulations beautiful
Thank you David
Great job
Really appreciate it, finally its done. Now working on a filter for the pond.

It's been a while. You should do a update video. What would you have done different, how are things holding up, etc...... Thanks!
Hi. Can I ask where you bought the window glad and was it a custom sized window and was it expensive?
Thanks

@@Fishaholic oh really? Looked like a natural! Thank you very much, I think I'll follow your steps as well on that part. Thanks mate!
Hi also looking to build one in the UK. Can I ask how did it turn out?
Screws held together with wood and glass fitted totally opposite to what other Bearded Brit 'experts' on ponds say on RUclips.

What silicone do you use for window please.
Hi Gareth, It's an idealseal ms 290 easily available in Australia
Should have covered the corners, get water ingress.

No worries, irrigation stores sell these too. I bought mine from smart water.

What is the size of this pond??
Hi Jake, I believe approximately 2.2 x 1.1 x 1.1 'LxWxH' in meters
Good job! Massive pond/ tank. How many gallons?
Cheers mate, its around 650 gallons
