matt they raced in the durkan because 1. its the main grade 1 race to get your horse fit there isn't a 3 mile grade one. 2. Those 4 horses have all won at 2m3 to 3m2 thats the trip, there isn't enough races to cover all these stayers. and 3. they need the run and these races school horses on fast work, they need to be able to put up fast pace. Nothings ideal.

Totally agree with chapman about jockeys I hated watching Jamie Moore on a horse no finesse not a lot of skill just throwing horses at fences especially when they are beaten resulting in some cases in bad falls Charlie Deutsch is a magician on a horse such a talent

Ballyburn looks more like a Denman ( the tank ) type galloping stayer , that has the class to win at 2 miles .

What makes you think that pal. He won a high class John durkan on his first run of the season .he sluiced up at the track in March. And such regard Willie mullins holds him he never sent him over hurdles put him straight over fences .I'd say his credentials are there to see for everyone. .but everyone s got opinion I suppose
