@@amygrowls I had that included in an US Army MRE. Had nothing to do with cheese, but it was edible.
I’m from the US and all I could think about is how normal this food sounded 😂 so I guess it’s pretty accurate after all, even if we don’t eat these things all the time. Love pineapple on pizza and love that they included shoe string fries. They’re the bomb!
As an American, it’s no worse than our generic characterization of British food. We eat this stuff, but not every day. And yes, the cheese spread is an exaggeration; it should be individually sliced wrapped “cheese food product.”
We sometimes put it between two slices of bread slathered in Mayo or butter and make a grilled “cheese” sandwich on our pancake pan 😂
Oh my word this is cracking me up 😂 I get that taste is subjective, but I will fully admit (as an American myself) that Lidl totally pegged a decent swath of our comfort foods. Even if cheese spread does gross me out 🤢
I also have to comment on “Kansas” BBQ - if you’re interested to know it’s actually “Kansas City” style bbq, and having been raised on KC bbq it absolutely gets my vote above and beyond any other style 😄

Those are fighting words! Thankfully I’m not from Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina or Memphis so I have no skin in the game. I’ll just silently eat my BBQ in the back and be grateful any of it exists.

I’m American for better or worse and we vary greatly in what we eat- Lidl just gives a wee sample but it’s always fun🥰🗽
American here. The BBQ bulls looks like a a bbq flavored corn puff. Kansas style is going to be sweet because Kansas style sauces are brown sugar and molasses based and get their acidity from tomatoes. Carolina style is going to be more savory because the sauces tend to be vinegar based with spices.

North Carolina here - I agree! Although it depends on which part of NC you’re talking about. Eastern NC BBQ is vinegar based and Western (also known as Lexington style) is catsup based. ❤

Does your Lidl ever have a Scandinavian week? It would be interesting to know if they do and what kind of foods they classify as scandinavian… or if they actually sell some exact same products there they sell in our Lidls (in Finland) 😁

American here - what does “rasher” mean? It looks like deli sliced meat but I can’t really tell. And I’m from Texas so we are “different” here…😂
rasher means a thin slice.
I never liked pineapple on pizza, BUT! Lol, but then my bf convinced me to try it but with fresh pineaplle instead of the canned they use in restaurant's. He always makes homemade dough and makes them at home, so anyways I tried it loved it. With fresh pineapple its delicious, I still dont like the canned. Its best with a bbq chicken, jalapeno, and pineapple pizza. Thats a wonferful recipe

I love tools and DIY, but I probably wouldn’t be buying many tools from Lidl, because it looks to be about Harbor Freight quality. “Bare unit” means buying the tool without the battery, because the customer often has a few batteries already to swap in and out.
