It might be a fun addition to roleplay factor if you paid your bodyguards weekly wage. Like 100 septims each just to keep you in the loop of trading to afford protection. Or maybe a little percent of your quest payout. Their are hired guard after all. What do you think?
Not sure if Greylyn is much of an alchemist, but if he’s grabbing ingredients here and there I wonder if he might learn/know alchemy. Creep cluster + giant toe + wheat makes a very expensive potion!
I love the Ashlander camp, it's one of my favorite mods too. Another pair of mods you might like are Coins of Tamriel SSE and Exchange Currency SE. They add more detail to the currency with copper, silver, gold coins, as well as merchant and East Empire Company notes. There's also a patch to make them work together. It adds weight to coins, and encourages you to exchange your currencies for higher value ones to keep your weight down.
Windhelm was alwas so dull, but the new mods really give it some life! And the backpack and armor are truly the prettiest ones I have ever seen in Skyrim. This has the potential to become the best series ever. Keep it up dude!
You could have a policy where you only bring dunmer companions with you. Maybe hire regular mercenaries occasionally, but your only permanent/ named companions are dunmer.
YES. This series is going to be fun I can tell. Also the [Campfire - Primitive Shelter] Mod is really fun and you can build a yurt apparently. I just got it yesterday and am testing it out, the leaf pile is a bit buggy.
This new series of yours couldn't have come at a more perfect time as I too am going through a merchant playthrough in SSE. However, I'm playing as a Khajiit instead. I also started with the Alternate Start mod and went on with the merchant start to the game. I role played my character as someone who's primarily a merchant but is more than happy to take up small mercenary work. I initially went from town to town to make trades with the spoils and earnings I've gather from small quests I got from the Missives(?) mod as well as from the mod that allows you to acquire side quests from almost anyone in the game. I tried to only take small and reasonable jobs, staying clear from jobs that are clearly for dedicated mercenaries or sell swords; meaning I mostly take up jobs requiring me to kill beasts (but not giants or trolls, or any really formidable monster as my character isn't built for fighting as well), or maybe a hit on any regular, random stranger. My first few thousands were spent buying the... I think it was called the Drunken Dragon, which is the name of the mod as well as the namesake of the broken down house near the tower you fight your first dragon. This mod allows you to rebuild said broken down building and turn it into a store where you can sell your wares. I've now managed to earn enough gold to buy both Heljarchen Farm as well as Windstand Mine and I'm now slowly trying to expand both. Travelling from town to town, city to city, and checking up on my properties and store along each way has been a fun new experience for me since I've only ever played Skyrim as any old other combative character. Needless to say, I'm very much looking forward to this series of yours.
Hello! I'd like to suggest the settlements of winter hold mod, it adds settlements all over winter holds well, hold, from a town of Dummer at the shrine of azura go a Dummer District near the city itself, it also adds more villages and other interesting settlements such as an orc citadel
I'm so glad you got that outfit! When I saw it, I was convinced it was made for this character. One mod I would suggest is one that alters the heights of the races to be more lore accurate. I'm not on a cpu, so I'm not sure which one would be the best for you.

Thanedom mod series on Nexus would work well with a no travel merchant playthrough. Adds lots of tiny towns sometimes with a trader and a story/quest. Their is one town that are vikings and they have a dark elf for sale and you can free him.
Might have been nice if you spent the time crafting that new armour, instead of spawning it in, since you spent time crafting the backpack and what not in the last episode.
Loving the videos a little comment on the state of the dark elfs they talk about fleeing red mountain and what not but the actual eruption happened like 200 years before skyrim but some mention it like it was recent.
There’s a dynamic camera mod you can install which lets you change the x and y positioning for melee, archery, and normal 3rd person. It’s a lot of fun and you can also change your fov

Great video! You may want to try out mod - your market stall. It allows selling for full price at the stall (slow at first, faster as you get reputation) or order your followers to sit and sell things for you

Do you happened to have a wagon mod and trade economy overhaul? I fondly remember using one in my own playthrough. I would also suggest some kind of main city expansion mod to make you walking into cities more interesting
If you accept the quest to return the locket from the kajit caravan guard near dawnstar then you can locate them, And travel with them on their route, maybe becoming addicted to skooma.
Oh yeah idk if you know about it but I think conventient horses would go great with this character it makes it so you can store unlimited things on your horse and it gives it a new appearance that looks like what a merchant would have if you care about not fat traveling I like to walk from place to place
I know I'm super late to the party, but I have a lore nitpick: the Ashlanders are culturally distinct from other Dunmer and, IIRC, relations tend to be mutually mistrustful. They probably would not have warmly welcomed your character unless he's also an Ashlanders. Gaining the approval of the different Ashlander clans was part of the main quest in Morrowind, so it really stuck out to me lol.
Kind disappointed you're not using the mod "my market stall" I believe is what it's called. Highly recommend taking a look into it to enhance this playthrough to the max.
If you haven't already and you enjoy 3rd person now but are a bit tired of the vanilla combat, Valhalla Combat and some other mods really up the strategy and decisions you make in fights also (cool aspect +5)
Being a merchant is pointless, because Skyrim has no economy and everyone's prices are the same, unlike Daggerfall where you can buy from one shop and sell at a profit to another! Because each NPC's Mercantile skill reflects prices, and quality of goods in that game. The only way you can become a proper merchant is through a mod i suppose!

One of the most immersive playthroughs I have ever seen until now on Skyrim. These mods really add a layer of depth that is needed in game.

If you're gonna do 3rd person, I highly recommend true directional movement. It makes your turning less snappy and feels more fluid.
You might want to get teldryn sero as a bodyguard he’s really interesting and you can hire him in solstheim

Look into finding a walking stick mod... And possibly a caravan mod

19:05 certain follower mods allow them to only wear the helmet and combat that’s what I personally do with nether’s follower framework

Try out Harvest overhaul redone so you can pick multiple ingredients instead of the vanilla one ingredient

You should level up Stamina and Magicka only because you aren't a fighter. Also Stamina is increased Carry Weight
