@debbierudolph9489. Ruby is basically a loner, an outside cat that wandered into Lalande one day. He sticks around because they feed him, but he was never theirs and doesn't seem to care for human companionship or love. He's sort of a permanent guest who has all his needs met.

Every visit with the chapel restorers is a history/art lesson for those of us who enjoy learning about the old world. The use of the peacock feather was clever. Nothing goes to waste at Lalande, not even a dropped feather.
Philip is such an artist along with his wonderful taste in securing all those amazing antiques. He set such a beautiful table.
I am completely convinced that you Stephanie, were the right person to purchase La Lande. Look at what you have done to bring her to life with such loving care. Especially the Chapel restoration! You were meant to bring it back to life with all the amazing artisans working on it. I hope the previous owners will come back for the celebratory Mass and festivities! Well done🥰
I agree as think it was for her to do in her time when she was of age in order to do it all. Seemed to be her "calling" as she has done so much good for so many people as well! Evidently Philip was meant to come along when he did too. He has done much as well. She ( Stephanie) had to stand strong through so much of the early times and it was( not easy at first) Never totally easy, but work is work but there is much joy coming with it all too!
It’s always wonderful to see the previous owners enjoying the improvements you have made. They must be so delighted that the chateau was sold to you Stephanie.

Maria in the kitchen! Can't we have both her and Marie? Joking a bit, but it is lovely having Maria back at Lalande. Going to miss the chapel artisans too. Watching them utterly transform the chapel has been a real delight.
Thank you for sharing that there is indeed a budding friendship between Galahad and Ruby. I had a cat go through a terrible depression when her sister passed away. So I was worried about Ruby, being depressed and missing her buddy Lancelot. Your mum is adorable and your relationship is lovely! The chapel is so amazing and the details are overwhelming! I’m so glad you found a way to restore it fully!
The more I look at the majesty of the art work on the chapel, the more astonishing I am. It is just an incredible work of art.

The ARTISANS working on that Chapel restoration take my breath away!!!! They have and continue to do such an AWESOME job on it!!! I do hope that you pay tribute to them so future generations will know who did this FANTASTIC restoration - perhaps with a plaque mounted in their honor???!!!???!!!! IT IS BEAUTIFUL and so is the work they have meticulously done on it!!! BRAVO!!!

...it's so adorable when she sings old fashioned traditional songs too! Reminds me so much of my dear mother who sang songs from so many sources and traditions that I wouldn't be surprised if she knew this one! My mother's grandmother was French, so it's possible.

I have a hibiscus here in Minnesota, same color and it is blooming profusely now. Blooms only last a couple days, but they are beautiful.
No, Hibiscus moscheutos. Rose of Sharon is a shrub, Hibiscus syriacus.
Mine here in Vermont is a deep red and has been blooming for a couple of weeks...they are lovely and I'm seeing more and more around here.
@@elisabeth6108oh, i thought it might be Alcea Rosea which is a very old flower commonly planted throughout the whole 18th century. They're quite similar. Very beautiful flower. They should plant more of those along the side of the chapel when removations are complete, as that one seems to love it! And perhaps lits of lily bulbs. Would frame the chapel with blossoms beautifully. ❤

The chapel is really becoming fabulous. I think it, on it’s own, would be worthy of pilgrimage, just to enjoy the colors and designs. It takes special people in the 21st century to look beyond the dirt and wear that had overtaken that dilapidated building, to restore a gem of the past.

It is so nice that you have a good relationship with the previous owners. Although as I know from visiting my brothers who inherited our family farms it can be a bittersweet thing returning to see changes made to your childhood home.

Oh, I'd love a closer look at the wooded "box" at 2:11 that Isabell said was for flour. She's right, I think. I believe it's an old baker's proofing box. They would proof large amounts of dough in there. Probably used in conjunction with your bread oven!

Mummy & Percy have such great attitudes and energy. Without any help they just get on with tasks. Love Mummy singing as she has an amazing voice and was very touching. The chap in the house fixing the corridor is so joyful and genuine as are the chapel team. Their attention to detail & perfection of their work is just incredible. How wonderful hosting the previous owners. Maria created a scrumptious meal. ❤💒

Just a couple of days ago some were complaining in the comments about you needing a new intro for the premiere. It’s not something that’s ever bothered me but already you’ve changed it! The colors remind my of Stephanie’s father’s painting 😊
A suggestion for the kitchen hall where ceiling is a different hight. Add a beam and small corbels or something so it's still open but the fancy details hide the different heights. It was nice to see Maria's cooking again

Hello again Stephanie.....I loved hearing your dear sweet mother sing about the Portuguese washer woman.....She appears to be French and then your dad was British and your granny Irish....a wonderful mix. You have such beautiful English diction. I enjoy all your wonderful videos and life at La Lande....seeing all the guests and the continuing restoration. I always wanted an old fire place in my little home and decided to build one myself. Of course it is only decorative with lovely fairy lights within the opening and a pretty mantle. (a friend in the U.S.))
Two days ago watching your vlog and loving the gaura butterfy plants which i had seen before, i was scrolling through the comments looking the the name of the plant and voila Stephanie you told us the name. Yesterday i went to the-local plant nursery and low and behold they had them, purchased one for now, every time i pass my garden i look at it. Thank you🇨🇦❤️BC

Cats love cuddles and being stroked and scratched behind the ears.
Natti, Marie, and even Kirsty feed and pet Ruby. I am not sure if he like cuddles, but he gets extra treats even from Stephanie. ❤
Ruby is a barn cat not a pet used to cuddles. It was said previously that his owner is a neighbor but Ruby chose to settle rather at Lalande.

Would love to have an updated tour of the chateau....pandemic style, maybe compared to the older vlog version's of the rooms. What's changed in five years? 20 year update! You can separate the vlogs in the same style/grouping as you did before!
ooohhh i would love that bathroom set! its a good thing i dont live in france or it would be sitting on my antique nightstand. i thought maria was just visiting and was going to relax while she was there and there she is cooking again!! always happy to see her wish she was still there all the time.
It is so refreshing to see your mother hanging wash out Stephanie. I am 72 and still hang my wash out. It smells so fresh especially bedding and saves on energy bills.

An architect friend told me years ago to measure the distance between my thumb and outstretched pinky ( mine is 7 inches). He told me it is a built in measuring tape. I have used this method countless times when buying vintage furniture successfully . Cheers from Toronto!🖐
