Mimiges Westwig is a Two-Spirit Mi’kmaq currently residing in New Hampshire’s White Mountains Valley. Mimiges is the Executive Director of the Conway Area Humane Society and is a dedicated advocate for animal welfare. She also serves on the Board of the Portland Recovery Community Center, where they chair the DEI Committee to foster inclusivity and support diverse voices in addiction recovery. Adopted at age seven after two years in foster care, Mimiges is passionate about improving cross-cultural adoption experiences. Outside of her work, Mimiges is an avid runner and finds joy in watercolor painting, connecting to nature and culture through art. Voices Unheard, 2024
