It is infuriating that mobile/ranged weapons (tanks) sit there and do nothing. They should move forward. Till they are in range of the approaching enemy. And then engage nonstop. They should retreat away from the enemy when the enemy advances. Then, from a secondary firing position, they should re-engage. USE EVERY WEAPON AT EVERY MOMENT.
It's problematic, too, because almost nothing in the game seems to have a range of over maybe 100m. And the tanks and artillery are weak as kittens, anyway.

If you've got the nuke, and you know how big this invasion force is, you might as well drop the nuke in the water before they launch their landing craft. Problem solved, although the soldiers on the beach ought to back up first.

@@battlesimulatorgamer You need to put way more modern army with more tanks plus Apaches. Also stack Cwiz in lines on the beach staggered with the 88's and engage all firepower as possible.. The tripods and those big aliens were very powerful maybe allot more Teslas with the ray guns plus the 2 legged drones/robots because they lay heavy fire down with their cannons.. Maybe then the Humans would stand a chance... Good battle though....
These Tripods were far fiercer than most. The old problem remains, though, of most of these defending units being pathetic. It's like they mistakenly loaded their weapons with paintballs. The tanks and artillery are essentially useless and were less effective here than the Civil War infantry, which just isn't even sensible. Meanwhile, the CIWS is absurdly weak. These would be 75 20mm explosive or tungsten penetrator shells per second; they would cut through HILLS. In the game, they're barely effective on meat-based infantry -- again, less so than the Civil War rifles. And they miss half the time. Those units have GOT to be modded or they just aren't worth putting in these scenarios. Ordinary firearms are absurdly weak in UEBS2, but the big guns are downright embarrassing and boring. Cool aliens, though. Nicely filmed.
Once I saw just 1 of those guys take a CIWS burst to the face and remain standing, you would have seen nothing but my dust; court martial be damned 😂😂😂😂
@@LiamWakefield At 11:47 when the Tripod walks up to the CIWS line, face tanks for several seconds from MULTIPLE units ... then 1-shot kills 2 CIWS at a single shrug .... I already knew which way the battle would end, but when I saw that I just stopped watching. Additionally, center-loading the tripods made the 'battle' even worse, because you're concentrating a small number of CIWS on almost all of the tripods. If they had been spread out along the line, maybe things might have been different. I enjoy mashups where there's doubt as to who will ultimately win. Less than 11 minutes in and I know I don't need to waste the remaining half-hour, because it's just going to snowball into a worse situation for the defenders. At the least, try and structure the fight so that the viewer is more than half-way through before they can tell where it's going to go.
Put fewer WW2 and MORE modern army against such a powerful enemy and MORE Abrams plus use the T45 robots and APACHES / MLRS next time.... And MORE tanks at the beach head stack the 88's in layers...
Again the metrics of this doesn't add up, all the ranged weapons would have been firing on the beach head and those tanks in all of these simos are garbage ,they rarely engage and when they do barely effective, plus why aren't there CIWs IFV's, MLRS systems etcetera in all of these it's always a lopsided affair with the defenders not having the resources needed to counter the threat here the aliens have energy weapons which alone is a force multiplier whereas the defenders have confused tanks, lol I like these but the mechanics needs improvement somewhat.
I stopped watching at the 12:00 minute mark. The "Aliens reaching Phalanx" bookmark. As soon as the tripod face-tanked MULTIPLE CIWS streams for several seconds, then 1-shot kills 2 at a time .... Yeah. That, combined with the fact that every Tripod was loaded into the CENTER of the Alien line, told me exactly how the battle would run for the remaining 20+ minutes. No need to guess or even watch any longer: the uncertainty and suspense has been obliterated by such an excessively domineering unit. So, here's my constructive criticism: such OP units shouldn't be massed in a single point. They should be spread out along the line, and possibly even 'dumbed down' a little. I know I saw some of them die, but it felt like they just wouldn't, not with the amount of firepower landing on them where every other thing would have been shredded by then.
