Guns N' Roses / Axl Rose Then vs. Now (1992 vs. 2010) November Rain Live Alternating Comparison

This video alternates back and forth between 1992 (Paris) and 2010 (Reading Leeds Festival) live performances of November Rain by Guns N' Roses.
Rose's vocal timbre has drastically changed since his '88 to '93 glory days, and this change has been very much for the worse in my opinion. His iconic raspy and powerful voice of the '80s and '90s has been replaced by a meek Mickey Mouse type voice, and much of his formerly impressive vocal range seems to be gone as well.
I have no idea what happened to his voice. He isn't all that old (48 years old in 2010), and he was only about 38 years old when he emerged from seclusion in the early 2000s, and his voice was as bad or worse then as it is now. Examples can be found from 2006 where his voice was much better than it was either in the early 2000s or now, but it still wasn't good in comparison to his Appetite for Destruction / Use Your Illusion days.
Note that I didn't choose his infamously bad Rock in Rio (2011) performance of November Rain to use in this comparison even though this would have made the comparison even more drastic, but rather I chose one that is a fair representation of his singing these days.

yep all those years of smoking and the ahem rock n roll life style of excess takes its toll on the voice.
It might be rock n roll at 20 to say i dont care about looking after my voice but if you want a long term career as a singer your vocal health should be the number 1 priority.

He really doesn’t, his hair is shorter and he’s gained weight plus he had that mustache, but you can still see his younger face in there too if you look past that
