On the Sing Off when they switched from Believe to Video Killed the Radio Star I was always low key bummed we never got to hear their version but I also loved VKTRS...so much inner turmoil LOL. So when they started Believe in this I might’ve yelped so loud I scared the cat. Love this. Too much fun and very nostalgic!

Yep, you pretty much said what I'd been thinking - Mitch's voice was just MADE for 'nineties songs! They have put some autotune on this one - but only because some of the original songs were autotuned as well. (I think the other reason the 'Blue' song sounded different was because Mitch has such clear diction when he's singing - it's the first time it hasn't sounded like "I'm blue and I would beat up a guy" to me!)

Besides the amazing singing talent these guys have, at least the trio has a background in musical theater since they were little. Matt & Kevin & Avi might have too. But their actions & aires & expressions in their videos make them way above the rest! You can even "hear" it if there's no video! You just KNOW their acting & jiving with every note - or very somber & dramatic, whichever is called for! The only ones close to them is Home Free & they have massive experience, too. Am I the only one who feels this way? 🤔

There is footage of Kevin in theater when he was very young, and Matt has some musical drama shots while at Berklee. Their roles in PTX as percussion and bass require a degree of technicality and focus that keeps the foundation and allows Kirstie, Mitch and Scott to shine.

I may be the only one who thinks this, but this is probably my least favorite video they have ever done. It is completely autotuned and electronically overridden. I have been seeing them go on to a new sound, sounding more like when Kirstie put out those overproduced videos a few years ago. It's OK if they wanted to do that on a couple of the songs, like Do You Believe, but this sounds like mush in comparison to their usual videos. Oh, well - I still love your honest reaction to it.
Autotone was only used on Believe and Blue to honor those originals. Especially Cher. It took me a minute to appreciate the video. But now I find it fun and refreshing!
