- It's snow and ice season here in Chicago, and what better way to free yourself from the limitations that are inherent to slippery conditions than by grabbing a set of studded gravel tires. The Klondike "Skinny" comes in two sizes this review is based on the 700C version.

Hey, how are these tires after 2 years? Im considering to get my self a pair for my gravel. Would you go 40C or 35C if buying again?
Holding up great. I would size for where you expect to do most of your riding. If your use case is mostly on the road, with a side of gravel - 35C. If the other way around - 40C. When in doubt, get the 40C.
@@Mamilian Thanks! Do you have any info about the Continental Contact Spike or any other studs which could be considered?
@@borjajelic 45Nrth has a couple solid options, but they're fairly pricey. If money's no object, I would take a hard look a these. They will probably be more comfortable and likely a litter faster. Schwalbe also has a couple well priced options, but like the Spike, they are slightly more commuter focused. I suspect they would handle gravel fine, but probably not as well as a tire more focused on that use case.
@@Mamilian saw them online. Well.. the Gravdal folding tubeless version is better for sure but its 4x the price of everything else. And still too heavy. And still marketed as commuter tire. I will take your advice and go with 40C Klondikes or Contis, depending on the availability and price. For a few weeks of snow fun per year they should be good enough. Thanks and happy snow biking ;)
