Love's Train is a classic and I am so happy that Silk Sonic chose this to cover on Valentine's Day. Yes it is about a woman already involved but has a thing for another so she has to take that 2 am phone call. He wants to see her any way. THANK YOU SILK SONIC.

Actually that is a true story. Two of the band members in the original group con funk shun didnt know they were being played by the same female. That was the inspiration for this song.

But you are correct in saying that they are starting to sound alike even though that was Bruno, in the beginning of several songs I can't tell which is which. You Bruno sets himself apart when he hits that falsetto.

ConFunkShun did the original 1982 version, then Dru Hill did a 90's cover version which also became a hit. Sonically very different from Silk Sonic, cuz in the 90s they use lot of digital instrumentation and heavily compressed vocals. Silk Sonic sounds more rounded with authentic instruments.

They did this song justice, i looked up the original and watched a couple of the concerts, they did change parts of the song but they did it up good. I agree some old covers would be fantastic. I been watching some videos of "The Dramatics" and they could do one of their songs. This is a good quiet kept surprise.

You know, since silk Sonic recently has been doing covers of some older songs; such as Con Funk Shun's "Love's train", wouldn't it be interesting if they did a cover of their other song Fun Fun Fun? There are other groups too like Brick which has a single called "Ain't Gonna Hurt Nobody" and "Dazz"! ! ! There are so many of these bands out there that I'm confident that Silk Sonic can cover or remix Tastefully. These boys are talented anyway and I know that Bruno can handle it as well as Anderson on the drums. That live music just guarantees it!
