  • In this epic adventure I explore Tooele County Utah's Sidewinder, Rattlesnake and Constrictor trails! These three short trails have some serious obstacles and serious rock crawling fun! I find the limits of the FJ Cruiser and the limits of what I'm willing to try solo off road.

    Love how the terrain changes as you get up higher in these parts. One thing I noticed is that people don't want to change the obstacles to make them easier but in almost all cases the change has made them worse. What I mean is that most likely these trails were tough to begin with but over the years they became worse through erosion and people spinning their tires needlessly when they know they can't make the obstacle or being silly and not engaging lockers when they have them just to see if they can make it. Seems harmless but the trails become absolutely devasted many times. So that brings me back to my point is that sometimes it's better to have some trail maintenance, making it closer to original and allowing more people to utilize it and also takes away the idea of creating a whole new offshoot of the trail.

    You certainly repaired the FJ quickly! Glad to see ya back. Until next time.

      Yes, Eagles Nest presents a very high risk of roll over, especially without a spotter. It's good to know the limits of what is reasonably safe.

    I have done this trail in my FJ on 33's, no front locker, stock gears and just a leveling kit. I did use some bypasses but not anymore. 35's and long travel but still open on the front and still stock gears. Waynes world is a wheelbase problem. I havent done it yet but I keep trying. The "Tickler" is known to me as radiator rapids and the line you chose made it look easy. I will be running that line next time. For most people, eagles nest is a winch obstacle and there is an anchor up there next to a tree. @23 minutes if you stay to the passenger side, that is the rock garden and I have made it through there too. It is tough though. I would be glad to hit this trail again with you next time you are in town!

      Eagles nest is pretty intimidating! I ran into a guy in a buggy on the way down and he said he rolls on that one frequently... 😄 Yeah I'd love to hit some trails with you down there some time. Thanks for watching!

    Very cool video. I was up there today in my jeep. I got to the Wayne’s world obstacle and it’s not even easy to walk up. It’s slippery and it’s massive. Camera doesn’t even really do it justice. Being up there alone, no way I was going to attempt that. Quite honestly I don’t think I would try it if I had people with me.
    Quick question: Is the constrictor trail trail after you get up the Wayne’s world obstacle? In other words is it the trail in between Eagles nest and Wayne’s world?
    Is the sidewinder trail near Wayne’s world? I could not find it.

    • @offroadhub.official
      @offroadhub.official  Год назад +1

      They are 3 separate trails. Wayne's World is just an optional side obstacle, you continue the trail even if you don't do it. I had gpx files I was using in Gaia to find my way around. They are all very close to each other.

    • @sector783
      @sector783 Год назад

      @@offroadhub.official Awww gotcha.. I was on the trail right above the Wayne’s world obstacle. I parked and walked down to the obstacle. It looked like either you go up the obstacle or dead end. I guess you could go up the big hill that’s on the right. It’s so fun out there! Thanks for sharing the video! 🤙

      I'm in 4 low on every trail and I leave the atrac on all the time. I engage my rear and front lockers as needed, I used both frequently in this trail. Enjoy your new FJ! Thanks for watching!

      @@offroadhub.official thanks and I take it the atrac needs to be turned off to engage the rear diff lock on mine . They cant be used at the same time ? Sorry im a newb lol dont have the owners manual.

    • @offroadhub.official
      @offroadhub.official  4 года назад

      @@11silver-bullets they can be on at the same time. Atrac only engages when the wheels are turning at different rates. Since they can't turn at different rates when locked, atrac does nothing. So, no need to turn atrac on and off.
