Thank you so much for sharing this incredibly useful content. I always have so many issues with lighting in Blender and I can't really explain how helpful this video was. Keep up with your wonderful work!
What you said from 7:55-8:10 encapsulated everything I know about lighting. So this was really nice. I would love a follow up video where we watch you implement these ideas. Maybe take one scene and create a few different light setups. I mean, when you were talking about "setups," I was really curious what some good setups look like and how they differ in terms of what goes into making them. This was great!
thats a lot of information i didnt know how blender lights work bu thanks you man I didn't watched yet full video but basic one was a lot and idk how much Im gonna learn in this video
You did a really good job explaining these concepts....really want new updated & little bit more in-depth tutorial on this in unreal engine....great work
This video is incredible I was okay with lighting but I always wondered why I couldn't improve and my renders doesn't look good. I found the reason now, I was lighting without any direction. I just wanted to make a quality renders that's all i thought of, with this video I can definitely take my lighting to next level. I just need to ask questions before lighting. Thanks a lot
The other way to think about the intent (what is the main focus) is the phrase i heard from the @polygonrunway "Painting with light" - you don't have to make it realistic, or mimic real life - use it as a "brush" to focus and direct
Also note that volumetrics may enhance the lights and improve the looks of SOME of your scenes, it wont work on all, of your scenes. In addition to increasing render times, it’ll also make a noisier render
Thank you for making this video I had a go after watching by redoing lighting on other projects and it looked a lot better! Could you do a tutorial or some sort of video like this on fog or mist like in some of the examples like the one by huleeb at 13:09 and the others, I can find some tutorials but they don’t really explain how to change it or make it look more like the one I just put the time stamp for, I don’t really know how to describe it but like that one. Thanks!
The video is great, nearly cinematic, however your audio needs some work. Your voice is low and it tends to bottom out and sound muffled. Look at techniques for your editing program to sweeten your voice and to make it stand out so it is clearer sounding
Incredible knowledge being spilled in this video, amazing job on this one, so well put together!!
Thank you again for letting me use your art as one of the case studies in this video
