Thanks for sub to my channel, just retired collected 3 buses and 3 beetles to play with, then legs and feet went bad having to sell projects. They all have homes some are gone others still in the process. My 67 that in the garage will continues to work on it with some help..get it ready for the road and paint , and then watch it go down the road, The set-up I have will allow me to continue rebuilding motors. Never know health improves a oval window may follow me home next year. Cool plans with your bus will be fun to watch the progress. We lived in Columbus, Ohio in the early 90's , my son and i got started into vw's. Then in 1993 when Lennox closed the factory in Columbus, we had to move to Iowa.
Just found this video and I’m heading down the same path and had similar ideas for the 68 I just picked up. I plan to keep mine just a trail rig tho. Plan is 30-32in tires, weld in rock sliders and bumper tucked winch. I’m just glad I found someone as goofy as me!

It is using a 71 bus t2 gearbox. Later videos show it going in.
