Getting an accent from being exposed to it a lot is so real. One time in 8th grade I was watching Dan and Phil nonstop all day (it was probanly a weekend lmao) and then I had to go to the hospital and I literally had a slight British accent. It didn't last long at all probably just a few minutes but looking back its so cringey lmao.
It is honestly true, if you have even a slight British accent in Australia -> Instant bullying from anyone within 10 meters of you. Some friends of mine get absolutely attacked (verbally) from just opening their mouths. I salute you for surviving. o7
