- First Time fishing for yellowtail on a handline. In this video we will give you all the info that you need to go fishing for yellowtail in struisbaai. From line type, hooks, lenghts of the setup and even how to bait.
This was a unplanned trip as Paul called me late afternoon and asked if i wanted to join him and his dad on a fishing trip in Struisbaai. After a quick drive we had a short nap and on the boat we went.
The fishing was a bit slow but we still managed to land 30 yellowtail and that was more that enough.
I remember one new years eve party where they cooked a whole fish in the oven. I ate about 2kg. Utterly fabulous.

No idea how the fishing is at the moment. We try and launch at dark and get to fishing grounds at first light

No size limit. 10 per person bag limit and yes they get hammered
@@Bloudam thats way to many, we have 5 pp and 65cm and its too much and will be changed, NZ have 2pp and 75cm - which is perfect for seriola family

My first trip out on the sea was full of seasickness and not as enjoyable.

Try medazine t the night before and then again the morning before you go out
Yup he is right Sea Sick tablets a must: If you are prone
Also take two normal finger plasters and place them behind your ear:
Also when out on the water keep your eyes focused on the surrounding areas.
If you feeling sick: And start feeling saliva in your mouth
1. Don't sit down in the boat qnd look at the deck:
Why ?
Because it is the quickest way in which to further cause an imbalance in your sight and ear drum hairs
2. Also keep standing up and looking at the surrounding area and just get sick
And then wash your mouth out with water or cool drink
And then carry on fishing and looking at the surrounding area and the boats catching fish
In an hours time you might get sick again once more and then it's over
