So nice...you’re awesomely creative ! And to see Benjamin again when he was one year old...so oooooo cute. Beautiful boy! Covid has me cooking , crafting, baking ! I can’t wait for the garden centres to open again. Itching to redo my front garden with all the ideas from your videos! These Highlight videos are fun to watch when I am busy crafting . Who knew I could stay home this long without going bunkers ??? Really got excited when you showed us your new piece of land ! What an accomplishment to have secured that 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Stay safe !
Awwww so cute ... Little Benjamin I mean ... what a beautiful little gift from God. I also must say Laura, Aaron's a good little daddy 👨👦 I love that little fairy garden, something I've never done and that's to create a fairy garden. Thank you Laura for sharing this great little video with us all 👪💖🌈🌿🕊
Now you can convert that "ladder down" into a "bridge across" (to another fairy garden planter) and let the little ogre/troll dude love underneath that bridge! 😆
How did I miss this sleeper hit? I actually really liked the shape and would have stopped at the addition of a ladder. But this type of diy fairy cave will definitely be inspo for my kids and I this week!
This is so cute! And, the extra work you had to put into to covering the glue on the ladder really made it look super authentic. I love your channel and thank you for sharing!
I think that came out really nice. I love doing seasonal fairy gardens for my Granddaughters. So when they come its always something new in my Garden. I love changing things up during those times I think it makes your garden look so fresh and here in Oregon we actually have real 4 seasons. So that is extra special and so much more fun for me. The sphere I agree I used 2 metal bowls and plastic wrap. It worked for me too Oh my goodness Benjamin is getting so big.wanting to walk and everything. Pretty soon you will be chasing him in your garden.🌸🌾🌿🌺🌻🤗🍂🍁💞💞 and even helping which I promise from so much experiance from having 12 Grandbabies it is so much fun. and even with them being older and in college and things they still love helping me and canning things with me and my Mom. thank goodness for Gramma Gramma teaching us all this to keep it going for generations to come. 💞💞
It's almost refreshing to know that you can do a project that doesn't turn out perfectly, just like the rest of us. It rarely happens to you; but, we're NOT the only ones. Lol. Great save, though, Laura! You and your "esque' & "ish" words are so funny sometimes. I've seen some vids of hypertufa projects using both inexpensive plastic bowls and metal bowls for creating spheres. So amazing how perfectly the two halves are connected and the "seams smoothed over! Helen Wyatt of Georgia is really impressive with her Portland cement hypertufa projects on RUclips. Benjamin is such a cute baby! Just don't encourage him to grow up or do things too early. They're little for such a short time and yet, some parents seem to want them to grow up too quickly. My daughter walked early at around ten months; but, was 14 months before she had a single tooth! Hahaha. Those precious times passed so quickly! Children are such blessings to us and it's a huge gift for your fans to be able to watch him grow and change. It's also nice to see you & Aaron grow and learn as parents. God bless you all, Laura. 💜
Love it, you hypertufa turned out so very cute, and that little boy of yours is just darling. I have a grandson about that same age! They are so precious!
Spheres are difficult to accomplish with hypertufa because all it wants to do is slump. I would recommend either two separate half spheres that you attach together once they're cured, or skip the 'tufa and go with thin layers of concrete (brushed on) in thin layers until you have a nice, thick surface.
Just saw this today and I love your "save my fails" idea. Have you considered using a basketball? It's probably one of the sturdier balls available. You could cover the hypertufa with plastic (or a plastic bag) to keep it from shifting. Good luck. I'm going to search now to see if you tried again! (Loved seeing Benjamin so young!)
It's adorable! Snatching victory out of the jaws of defeat in garden projects is the best feeling. Think of it with moss growing on it. Transplant some from your garden.
Ha Ha LOL, I didn't know you were a comedian, Laura "I think if I put two googly eyes and painted it blue, it could be Cookie Monster." 🤣😂🤣I seriously belly laughed at that one. Love how it turned out, though. You're awesome! God bless you n family!!😇
I think it turned out super cute! 👌🏼You asked for other spherical ideas & I’ve seen a yoga ball used as a form. It can be inflated & deflated quite a few times so it can be reused. With it being so large it would need to be reinforced with some mesh or other material. So many options it could be a fun project to try. 👍🏼 🧚🏼♀️🍄🧚🏽♂️🌿
Try using one of those exercise balls that people lay down on to help arch their backs and support off-the-ground exercises. Wally World has a brand that comes in three sizes. Because those balls are meant to hold the weight of a person, they hold up well as a form. I used a medium-sized one and it worked just fine with full-on cement so, hypertufa would be easy-peazy!! Hope this helps.
you could use a child plastic/rubber ball for the round shape. the kind of ball they have in a cage like display in walmart etc. there are lots of examples on pinterest
This project is so cute. You said you removes the stuff outside. I think if you put sheet moss on top it would look like it was something nature had made. You are so creative!!!
That is just fun and adorable. Benjamin should have liked this if he was a little older. I know this was a year ago do you still have it. Was it too dark inside for the fern. Where did you put it?
Yay! I loved it till you started putting all the stuff on top and I started saying "Stop! Stop!, and then I saw the pictures. I don't know why I doubted you, yours always turns out so special. lol It looks so special in the area you put it in.
what if you use two bowls, that when they're connected they form a circle, and you just do is separately. then why you add them together just sand the seam smooth
Hi Laura, I love watching you create, and you inspire me to try also. I had saved your video w/the moss (or live) roof. When I went to look at it, it was someone else's video that got saved. How can I find it?
Great save on a project. It is good to get a result you can be happy with after working really hard on something isn't it. Thanks for the creativity!!!
Try a small exercise ball. I have seen these used when making string lamp shades. They are really sturdy and if you get one that you can unplug and not pop you can re-use it. 😀
Oh my God all this time I thought I had subscribed I watch all the time via TV I'm just not sure if when I like on tv if you receive it because it doesn't show on my phone. Anyway you guys are awesome I started buying house plants because of you. Lol I have about 27 now
I love cookies😅😂🤣💙!!! Gotta love that Cookie Monster!!!That turned out awesome! Always look for the positive in things even when they don’t turn out as planned.💚💚💚💚💚💚
Had a hypertufa fail last year. Number sign for our front lawn about 4 feet long by 2.5 feet high and 4 inches thick with the numbers as a negative space. Fell apart while tried to move it and slowly disintegrated each time we touched it. Now it is just a pile of sand like material. Change of plans ... cedar fencing boards. Live and learn😀
I've gotten into Hypertufa before, just as far as playing around with it many years ago. For the most part, I've been able to deal with the people that had been playing around with it too. BUT, many people had NO idea that ANY talk beyond just a few words were words of the competition, wanting to outdo the guy that came up with this all first.
I have used an exercise ball as well as a large baloon with a couple layers of papier mache using metacellulose. When dry its a good solid base for hypa tufa😆
Benjamín it's getting so big ,so very cute pretty soon he's going to be able to help you in your projects LOL, anyhow can't wait to try and do mine and see how it turns out thanks 😏😏
Just had a thought, what about pool noodles from the Dollar Tree store? You can duct tape them to the shape you want. Wrap plastic wrap around them and add the cement,
You could also paper mache the sphere or use a chinese hanging lantern- and then use the hole to set it on a pole (mushroom looking setup) and then apply the hypertufa to that (youd be able to tilt it different directions as you worked it).
While this is gorgeous, I would be terrified of planting this up in my area. I steer clear of closed in contairs or like putting a pot on its side and have to reach into the back for matenice and care. #FLbrownrecluse
You could use a styrofoam ball. Balloon, paper mache dry then hypertufa over. Or instead of a balloon and paper mache...a certain male contraceptive item can be blown up like a balloon and should be sturdy enough take a light hypertufa mix.
If you're curious, I removed all the stuff off the top of the fairy garden because I decided I didn't really like that part in the end. 😀
Good choice.
i just came to the comments because I KNEW it would be addressed!!
It looks nice.
Try balloons they have the wobble balloons.
Please make this a series!! Revamping your fails 😅 love seeing you give things new life ❤️

That turned out nice little fairy garden. Benjamin is so cute he gotta be such a joy. 💜
I love the rustic look. I don't think it's a failure. I love it. 💕🌻🌿
Now you can convert that "ladder down" into a "bridge across" (to another fairy garden planter) and let the little ogre/troll dude love underneath that bridge! 😆
love your idea

Girl...you rocked it! So cute! Hi Aaron and Benjamin!
Super cute and whimsical. Maybe put a solar light near it. I love the way it turned out. Awesome job Laura. Benjamin is growing so fast! Hugs! 🦋🦋🦋
I think that your prototype is very organic. I love it. I think that you could market these if you could make a mold. LOL 😊
Just saw this today and I love your "save my fails" idea. Have you considered using a basketball? It's probably one of the sturdier balls available. It might be a failed project for you but for me You never fail to inspire with anything you do !! 👍😍👍
Turned out cute! The bonus was even cuter! Thanks for sharing Benjamin 😍😘❤
Please list your plants like you do in the other channel. It is so helpful. Great videos Laura keep up the good work.
It's adorable! Snatching victory out of the jaws of defeat in garden projects is the best feeling. Think of it with moss growing on it. Transplant some from your garden.
That fairy garden is WAY cool. I love it cos it's more natural and looks real. Very cool :)
You have such a creative eye. Looks fun. 👍🏻
Love the whimsy! The ladder is amazing.

Adorable, a great save! I shall expect to see that little troll in a Halloween project though!
Turned out great Laura...and Benjamin is just too cute!!....😍🇦🇺
Cookie Monster 😂😂😂😂
It ended up looking really cute and I prefer it minus the moss and pine cones stuck over the outside too😊😊😊
Wouldn’t it be too dark in there for some of the plants?
You made fabulous lemonade! You're SO creative! ---Could you imagine yourself in any other job that you could showcase your many talents?
Love how a fail turns into a win! Love Benjamin walking! So much fun at this age! Ok every age of your child is fun!
YAy! A fairy garden! You hadn't made one in soooo long. It turned out cute.

I made a “sphere” hyoertufa for my mom using metal mixing bowls. I covered them in plastic wrap...A LOT of plastic wrap and it worked fine!
you could use a child plastic/rubber ball for the round shape. the kind of ball they have in a cage like display in walmart etc. there are lots of examples on pinterest
nay282 - Yes. Or I've seen them use big plastic serving bowls from party supply stores.
You could always try this, and be able to deflate the ball after the cement dries!

Nice job Laura, and ya you did the right thing taking off the top part, it looks better. And omg you're baby boy is streching out.
Yay, I have been waiting for you to make a new fairy garden! 😉 I love it!!! 💕
This project is so cute. You said you removes the stuff outside. I think if you put sheet moss on top it would look like it was something nature had made. You are so creative!!!

Baby Benjamin is so stinking cute!! 😀

Yay!!! More fairy gardens please oh please!! - Cambria
I was looking forward to the Ogar peeking out thru the bushes back in there lol
Super cute! Please share the stuff that didn't work out more, it is so good to know!
Great save on a project. It is good to get a result you can be happy with after working really hard on something isn't it. Thanks for the creativity!!!
Beautiful and magical!!! Please do do more fairy gardens!!! Everyone like this comment if you agree!!
u are so creative its like u could probably make a story claymation style using differentbackground set-ups!
What kind of glue did you use? The glue I use is for outdoors, but it never holds the things together!
Is an old bowling ball the right size?
🤗🤗Benjamin 🤗🤗 and love the garden orge hide away...
You are so creative with your projects.
Try a small exercise ball. I have seen these used when making string lamp shades. They are really sturdy and if you get one that you can unplug and not pop you can re-use it. 😀
Thank you for sharing the faills and trying to do something with it! It happens right..keep trying! Thank you!
Oh my God all this time I thought I had subscribed I watch all the time via TV I'm just not sure if when I like on tv if you receive it because it doesn't show on my phone. Anyway you guys are awesome I started buying house plants because of you. Lol I have about 27 now

Your har looks lovely!
Your fail turned out real cute!
Awww this was my first time seeing ur baby, He's CUTE!!!!
And exercise ball with drywall tape around for some rigidity
I love your Hypertufa Fall Fairy Garden .
As usual, I love it! I have learned so much since watching your videos. Cant wait till next year to put my new garden/flower knowledge to use!
Not a fail, just went in a different direction, I like how you fixed it , cute !
Do you have a link to all the fairy garden videos you've done? I'm having a hard time finding them.
You turned an oops into a wow! Can you come fix my oopses in my garden? I love the fairy garden and it is so nice to see Benjamin.
Please show us how you made the cave form and where you got the ogre. He is totally cute.
I've gotten into Hypertufa before, just as far as playing around with it many years ago. For the most part, I've been able to deal with the people that had been playing around with it too. Benjamín it's getting so big ,so very cute pretty soon he's going to be able to help you in your projects LOL,
anyhow can't wait to try and do mine and see how it turns out thanks 😏😏
maybe use two aluminum bowls to sandwich it?
Two bowls and then glue/affix the two halves like a pokeball or easter egg?! ♡ either way- this is adorable!
You are an artistic genius
Benjamin walking wow they grow up so quickly
Simple and beautiful😍❤
That looks awesome 🌿
Just had a thought, what about pool noodles from the Dollar Tree store? You can duct tape them to the shape you want. Wrap plastic wrap around them and add the cement,
Even ogres need a quiet place to sit!! Lol
Benjamin's eyes are such an amazing color.
Very cool. Like a cave. Nice.
That's really cute!! I think you could sell it in your parents store.
Muito amor, trabalho maravilhoso, amei, muito, muito, tudo muito lindo!! Parabéns!
Where was the ogre? Loved this
You wanted a suggestion for a sphere, so I found this: ConcreteDIY on RUclips uses a Yoga ball and I think this will work.
What was the sphere made from
What about dollar store bowls?
What about a big rubby like ball from the kids section?
I love the shape of it!!
You could also paper mache the sphere or use a chinese hanging lantern- and then use the hole to set it on a pole (mushroom looking setup) and then apply the hypertufa to that (youd be able to tilt it different directions as you worked it).
That turned out cute.
Loved it❣️✨
Great comeback.. lookup little Benjamin
you are great you do a great job..
That turned out so cute but not as cute as that Benjamin. That is also my son's name.
While this is gorgeous, I would be terrified of planting this up in my area. I steer clear of closed in contairs or like putting a pot on its side and have to reach into the back for matenice and care. #FLbrownrecluse
Chase Campbell
I thought the same! 🕷🕸
Nice very creative i like it.
You could use a styrofoam ball. Balloon, paper mache dry then hypertufa over. Or instead of a balloon and paper mache...a certain male contraceptive item can be blown up like a balloon and should be sturdy enough take a light hypertufa mix.
Cookie monster made me belly laugh :-)
This reminds me of pictures I’ve seen of the giant caves in Vietnam.
