Can't stand them, never been a fan, except for their installment of the, Back To Mine series. Which is absolutely magnificent. Back To Mine was a series of compilations, released on CD, each installment was by a different artist, the idea being that each mix would be the tunes they would play you after a night out. Most of the series is interesting, some are better than others, the Pet Shop Boys one is two mixes iirc, one for each member, and is easily one of the best imo.

Excellent! I love them too. But this song is sublime. It kind of it's contextualized with nowadays (War, bullying, school massacres worlwide etc). "Survival of the fittest = Charles Darwin". "Turn the other cheek" = Jesus (Bible). I've been to their shows 4 times. 3 in Brazil and 1 in Washington, DC. Great job, guys! Thanks for sharing!
The song pays homage to WW1 or shortly just before it most likely in the Austria-Hungry Empire. WWI Germany didn't really consider it an empire although it had colonies mostly in Africa.
