Take Banksy into the groomer for a wash ad de-shed....it costs a bit, but they are pros and can do it SO much faster and so much better!!!! For your shoe break-in, DO get some Leukotape so they don't give you sores. The thick socks and hairdryer are a great idea, but you might try wearing DAMP socks around in the Docs until the socks are dry .... that should also help mold the shoes to your feet!

I too have a kitty who is not great at taking care of her fur. She does groom regularly, but she's really bad at hitting all of the spots, so certain areas go neglected (different parts at different times, but usually for long enough that she'll get matted and oily in those areas if I don't keep an eye on it). The best thing I've found is gloves that have little... spikes, for lack of a better word??... on the palms so that they basically brush her by petting her. She's not a HUGE fan of it, tbh, but she'll tolerate it a lot better than she will a brush, which she won't allow anywhere near her. She'll usually let me pet her with the gloves for a few minutes before she's over it, so it's good enough. If you actually see this, I have a question that I've always wondered: Is your cat's "real" name Banks and you call her Banksy as sort of a nickname, or is it really Banksy and you call her Banks sometimes? I'm guessing it's the latter, but the other wouldn't be all that surprising either.
We have a fluffy cat, Scottie Dog and a British Blue cat, none of whom like being brushed - the best brush that deals with tugs is a lookalike Mason & Pearson:)
THat comb looks like a furminator or a dupe of it, if so...please dont use it it hurts the fur so much! And I dont know the age of Banksy but if she is a bit older, not grooming can be a sign of arthrosis. A lot of cats get that and dont show much symptoms of it. When at the vets just mention it, they can confirm if she has it and if so put her on painmeds.
The way I stretched out my Docs back in the day was to wear double socks, thick sock on the outside and make the sock a little bit damp. But then you have to walk around, wear them around your house for a while. It really does work, but don't go out in them too quickly (those were the worst blisters I've ever had). I know they also sell a leather stretching spray, you spray the shoe inside, but not sure if that works better than water. The hairdryer I haven't tried but imagine it could work better if you also warm up the inside of the shoe before putting them on, though I'd be wary not to melt any joints/glue/stitching. Best of luck, Docs take work but really are so comfortable once you break them in.

Aldi or Lidl protein chocolate pudding or caramel pudding is amazing. It's a high protein dessert but not too many calories 😋 they taste like the choc and caramel rolo yogurt.
Our cat is a rag doll and doesn’t groom herself. We took her to the vets and they said she’s perfectly healthy some cats just don’t groom themselves very well. We have to brush her every day at certain times of year or she gets so matted. We’re lucky she loves being brushed though. We use a tangle tease brush. Sounds like you’ve already taken her to the vets if she’s been shaved in the past! Hope this balances out the scary comments a bit!
Banksy is not going to associate licky licks with pain she is going to associate getting brushed with yummy treats 😊 this is how you get your pets to do anything really 😅 trust me I have a puppy
You can pluck the long hairs out it’s just dead hair so the long fluffy bits you can pinch them at the very end of the hair and pluck it out. It doesn’t hurt the cat it’s just dead hair. If it hurts her I’m sure she would let you know.
Hi, owner of 10 cats here (with various skin conditions and length of fur). One of my cats had a thyroid problem which led to him not being able to wash himself very well. Had an operation and it was all sorted! My current long haired baby looks a lot like Banksy and has similar problems with her fur, especially at this time of year when her coat sheds. We were advised to use olive oil on her fur and the clumps now either detangle or fall off themselves. Could be something dental as well though as other people have mentioned so might be worth getting her teeth checked out :)
If you like audiobooks, I’d recommend BookBeat I find it’s waaaaaaay better than audible as you can listen to more than one book. So if you dislike the book you started, you can just start a new one! X

So far, I just brush him really well, but I hear that it's good to bring long haired cats to get groomed like once a year. I think it depends on the cat's personality. My cat would be totally fine with getting washed, but other cats might get really scared so I would hold off if you think your cat would be traumatized
I'd go careful with that brush on banks. Cats have really fine and sensitive skin so it could be pulling too much. I'd recommend just booking her in at the groomers though, doesn't cost all that much and is way easier. But also getting her used to (a better brush) giving treats in-between letting her snif it first etc. The hair buster works really well on my lionhead rabbit and cats so it should do the trick nicely ❤❤:)))
Re Audible. I'd recommend to check out some other options like maybe a public library in your area (most have a massive digital audiobook catalogue these days) or somewhere like scribd. Audible is one of the worst options when it comes to audiobooks both for price and ethics ;)
Could you try combing Banks with a wet (old) tooth brush? Apparently it mimics the feeling of their mother cleaning them when they’re young? She might be ok with that? X
