The original ratatouille is actually just a bunch of leftover cut vegtables put in a sauce pan simmered with a red sauce. The ratatouille in the movie is a spin version made more for fine dinning.
Alternate title: Jodie, Sean and sometimes Toast try to cook while Lily vibes and cleans.

I'm not surprised that the cookies and bread were a little off. Bake is much more technical and exact measurements = success. I'm really impressed with how well they came out actually without a recipe. Cooking is much more freestyle than baking. Once you're good at baking though freestyling it will be more successful. I think y'all did a great job.

So Sean was right and what they did with the peppers was wrong, they would have had to roast them over the open gas flame and then let them steam in foil to peel the crispy parts off. Jodi was right that they needed to boil the tomatoes but only for 30 seconds. They also needed tomatoes in the Ratatouille.
you don't need to do it over the flame. Honestly you can the exact same effect just roasting them on high heat.
@@milanosrp Sure but roasting them in the pan takes marginally more time and creates an extra dish.
@@Two-ToneMoonStone It takes more time but you don't have to work over an open flame. It's much easier to stick them in the oven and forget about them while you chop your other vegetables.
@@milanosrp yeah but you can accomplish the same thing, much quicker, by roasting them over the flame and then cutting the veggies while letting the peppers steam and the tomatoes cool.
@@Two-ToneMoonStone lmao you can do what you want obvi, I just find it much easier to roast them in the oven for 20 minutes without having to worry about them blistering evenly and turning them constantly. Especially when you need three (or more) peppers. I suspect newbies like the OTV crew would find the same.
And honestly, unless you just have one pepper, once you have all of your peppers blistered, wrapped in foil, and steamed, it's going to take exactly the same amount of time if not longer than just cutting them in half and putting them on a foil-lined pan on high heat for 20-30 min.

when you cut with a knife that isn't serrated you just drag, you do not saw. a serrated blade is for "sawing" a fine edge blade is for slicing. drag back once and the knife should be able to do the work of cutting. pushing should be minimal if any. hold the thing you're cutting in such a way that if the knife slips like what happened to you, your fingers will not be in the path of the blade. a sharp knife is a safe knife, because it usually won't get caught, or slip.

the yeast haven't fully activated yet.. thats why the bread is dense af.. first thing on making bread, make sure your yeast is alive before starting anything by rehydrate it with lukewarm sugar water in a cup
That 1 ingredient in the cookie scarra that was like plastic was the PAM that was sprayed onto the pan to make it not stick. I learned that the hard way too :(

bread had too much yeast and kneading roasting is literally what jodi thought and Ratatouille has layers of red yellow green and purple cookie might have had to much baking soda.
For the bread they didn’t let it set in and proof, also probably to much flour, and overworked the dough
