This video features DAY 1 of an amazing 3-day, 2-night backpacking trip along the East Bank Ross Lake Trail to Rainbow Point Boat Camp in the North Cascades of Washington State.

We camped 2 nights about 9 miles in and then day hiked an additional 8.5 miles round-trip to Devil's Junction Boat Camp on day 2. Day 3 we packed up and hiked back to the car. Total mileage for all 3 days was about 26 miles with 2,000' elevation gain. It was a memorable trip with perfect weather, spectacular scenery, no bugs, and surprisingly few people.
*** NOTE: a back-country permit is required year-round to camp in the Ross Lake Recreation Area ***
