I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. Today (August 9), I attended the graveside service at my church for one of our former members who passed away. After marrying, she moved away from South Carolina, but returned home for about everything (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, 4th of July, etc). We all read this in unison. This was also read at my mother's funeral 2 and a half years ago. We will miss you, Lorela.

Oops. I forgot to mention that this psalm is also usually read or sung on Reformation Day, which is October 31. That is the day that Martin Luther nailed his 95 Theses to the door of the Church at Wittenberg, Germany.

I listen to this to learn about the Psalm. Instead i hear a depressing summary of the American Christian culture. There is a cost to return to the ways of the Bible and too few people are willing to pay it.

I watched six minutes of the bad sermon. This Psalm isn't about time management. It isn't about encouragingment specifically. God is addressing His enemies. Ponder that.
