i think all people arguing about the "real" meaning of mother mother songs (especially like arms tonite, oh ana and i go hungry) should watch this video and hear what Ryan says. i believe that when he said the meaning of a song is up to the fans to decide, he meant it about ALL mother mother's songs. im really tired of seeing people fighting in the comments that "no this song isn't about this because it's literally about something else!!"
I love the relationship between Mother Mother and their fans. It feels very intimate, very warm, yet welcoming to everyone.

I remember "Hayloft" coming out and hearing it on the radio for the first time. Seeing the video on Much for the first time. I'm STOKED for part II, for the next iteration of it. It already sounds incredible!! 💜
My main suggestion is to do what feels right to YOU. I've been a fan since Touch Up was just a shiny, new baby album, and it's 100% because of the sheer fact that you chose to commit to that sound and you did it so confidently. It's because you released songs like "Hayloft", radio stations and label be damned. Don't mould your sound to fit the demands and desires of a million other people - at the end of the day we're all here to hear what YOU have to say.
I remember finding Mother Mother in middle school, just entering high school and moving to a new city. It's not like I was leaving too much behind, but I still felt like I was cut from something familiar and needed time to adjust. So a lot of the song lyrics in almost every MM song, just resonated with me, and still does today!
Seeing the growth of this band has been nothing short of mesmerizing and heart-warming. Keep doing what you love Mother Mother! Cheers!

There are few bands that could earn my trust with a task like this. With every new sound from Mother Mother, I am provided that feeling of hearing sound for the first time. I can't wait to hear that song for the first time, again.
This band makes me feel happy. I've been listening to them for alot of time. They inspired me to start playing a guitar, I'm learning how to play "Burning Pile" on a classic guitar and "Hayloft" on electric guitar (i've got it yesterday so I haven't start learning yet-), but soon after I'll learn this two, I'm about to learn how to play "train of thoughts" and "Born in a flash" or "Aspiring Fires" because this 3 songs- are the best ones I've ever heard.

Hayloft has been my favorite song for years, and Mother Mother as a whole has given me so much comfort and really inspired me to be who I am today. To hear that you're making a sequel to the song that made me being me possible, it's probably one of the best feelings I could have. Hearing the little bits of the song gave me chills, and I cannot wait until its release! I can only hope that it'll be released and played at your concert on February 4th, it would be an amazing 16th birthday present that I could enjoy for the rest of my life. Your music really helped myself and my surrounding support system in a time of struggle and uncertainty, in which I was literally drinking myself from poor health and regular ER visits to near fatalities. We were homeless, inebriated and almost hopeless. The first four albums helped hold my family's interest in something constructive and positive in an, at the time, otherwise hellish world. Hayloft II is everything I could’ve hoped for in a sequel to a song. It’s not only a reprise, but a progression, and a banger all it’s own. It’s something I will enjoy singing in the car for years to come, I’m sure. I watched it when it premiered and the guitar brings me to joyful tears when it comes on in my playlist.
Hayloft gets me so hyped I simply cannot wait for this

One day i want to speak with the band of mother mother. To tell what they have done for me. Listening to them was around the same time I figured who I was. Where is my mindset. Who do I want to be. How will you tell your story and how will you orchestrate it to your liking to where others can love it as well. THEY helped me through that and figure it out. Mother mother is my life. A SEQUEL?? IM SO READY FOR THAT
I started listening to Mother Mother about a year or two ago. The first song I heard was Hayloft, and I got unbelievable amounts of deja vu when I heard it, like I've been listening to it for years. Same thing happened when I heard Burning Pile (they both got me to tears with that weird feeling) and bits and pieces of other songs like Body and Arms Tonite, so although I'm quite new to the band, I feel like I've been here for years. And knowing that there will be a Hayloft II is like visiting my childhood again. Can't wait to listen to the entire thing, I'm more than just excited 🖤
Such a beautiful insight, it's so marvelous just seeing a song taking form from the inspiration of a tale, and the best revenge being the unashamed reclamation of one's pride is honestly such a powerful message for everyone.
