It is a really good map that has come a long way. I can't seem to drum up any interest in flying on it with my group. Same with Kola. Thanks for the video!
I couldn’t get South Atlantic to run better than 30-35fps on the same rig that would manage Syria, Sinai, Kola at 60-90fps. That was a good year and a half post-launch. No second chance at first impressions, as they say.
I personally love this map. Over the last year or so, it's become my go-to map. It literally has everything from jungle to desert and mountains. The last 3 updates have all been fantastic.
I was not expecting this! I don't have enough HD space for all the maps so I have to be choosey. I can have 4 maps at once. As soon as I saw this update I blew the Afghanistan map away and loaded this bad boi up. Looks so good, especially with the new fog system.. Had to remember that the winter down there is summer up here. Backasswards. I had forgotten how huge an area this map covers. Massive
@@AIRWARFAREGROUP I haven't used the utility yet to do anything. I still do it all the old fashioned way. I will give it a try. I keep the Caucasus map because all the training modules use it. But that's about it. Once in a while I will get nostalgic and do a mission, but not often
My DCS is now on a dedicated 2TB M2 drive. I feel your pain. I have every map and all have their perks. Kola is just beautiful mountains and water. SA is flying over the scenery in Chili. I was gonna put off Iraq but caved in at its release. I did not regret it.
Looks good, now the big test will be seeing what dates the winter textures show up on the Falklands? It’s the height of summer there now, and it doesn’t start snowing until around May / June.

Oh no, that's not good. It's weird how DCS can run so different on different machines.

And an excellent amount of ocean to go around.
@AIRWARFAREGROUP I'm an F16 guy. Large bodies of water make me nervous. So I leave that part up to the boat people. 🤣

I uninstalled the Caucasus map as I don't fly on that ever anymore and I did it through the DCS launcher utility, which was pretty smooth.

A 4TB NVMe drive is £200
@@superflyguy4488 I know. It's not a money thing, it's a time to do it thing. I have one coming.

I set the Mission Editor for June 21. ❄️
