How well did the adapter perform? Because that seems really smart... being able to run the mic and powerbank (battery) to the phone at the same time. Did you try that? If so how was the audio?
Hey Dussel. The adapter is pretty awesome. Keeps the phone pretty safe and it's so convenient to have your mic, battery and light connected to one unit. Everything felt like quality except for the light. I don't use the light that it came with very often but it still works great. The mic is ok. It works fine with no crackling but I could tell a difference using my main mid grade mic compared to the one that comes with the kit. I have a smart rig for my camera I think it's very cool that I can set up everything about the same using my phone in this camera rig.
Great Vlogg. FYI.I Have a DJI Pocket 2 which fits in perfectly vertically. Just moved accessories around to suit as well as my go pro. So Small rig is cross platform accessible. Thank you
Yeah it's bigger or at least wider then my camera cage. It's got some weight to it as well so i think it would hold up in some strong wind. Pretty solid overall.
No problem. Thanks for checking out the vid. No record button but that would be a great thing to have. I'm sure you could mount a universal one to the rig but the kit doesn't come with it.
@@ChiliDippaGolf You can buy a separate handle with a bluetooth record button in it. There. is a SmallRig branded one. I'm surprised they didn't include it in this kit but oh well...
My phone has a usb type c charge port and that is the only port it has on it. Will I be able to charge the phone while recording and using the external mic?
Should be no problem. My phone has a type c and an external mic port. It comes with a connector to plug in the USB with the mic and type c port. I've never tried plugging in both the mic and charger in that connector but it's designed to work so you can charge while recording audio.
@@thebackyardgolfer7010 I think it's one of the best cameras for the money. If you get one you should try to pick up the sigma 16mm lens. I think I paid close to $600 for it but now I think you can get one for around $400.
@@ChiliDippaGolf The M50 costs around $800 here and it comes with the 15-45 mm lens and don't know if I can find it with a 16mm lens. I know it's an investment but, I've seen the results like in your video and I think is worth it.
The kit lens is pretty good. You have the zoom and it has stabilization. It doesn't come with the Sigma lens but you can always pick it up later or other lenses. There is an adapter to that you can get that will allow you to mount any canon lens's to it as well.
You'll be surprised how heavy this thing is. It's wide and looks like a sail but with the weight and low profile it will hold up. Are you still on vacation?
@@ChiliDippaGolf I got in my front door 10am sunday morning. It feels very cold here! I would be worried about the sail effect. Hopefully have enough video from thailand I don't need to record in the wind.
Im sure it sucks to be back already and coming back to cold temps. Can't wait to see what you've been up to on your trip! We have a cold front that came in today and I'm supposed to play a lot of golf this weekend with Greg, Miles and the Bogey Brothas. Saturday and Sunday are gonna be cold but we play in the Deuce Invitational on Monday and the weather should be ideal on that day. You may be able to use a small dead cat that they sell for phones and stick it over the mic hole for windy days. Not sure how they attach thou.
I looked into this kit and it is a bit overpriced to be honest, mic and light really aren't that good. Maybe for exterior shots but for recording videos at home i decided to get all separate items and make my own kit.
Yeah it is a bit pricey but the cage and tripod are really good quality. The mic is ok and the light feels a bit cheap but it works. Buying it separately is the way to go if you don't need those extra accessories. Thanks for your feedback.
@@ChiliDippaGolf thank you . sadly no my iPhone didn’t fit it ordering a new phone case and it will fit I’ll update as soon as I get a chance to use it !
Yeah I had to configure my phone case as well. I have a Sony Xperia and the bracket to the cage was pushing again my Google assistant button. I just cut that rubber button off the case and it fits just fine.
That thing does everything! The microphone sounded good too! Great review Mark!
Thanks Jeremy! Yeah the mic sounded better then what I thought.
That intro is fire bro. Great video. That's a solid kit.
Thanks Miles! The kit is pretty cool. Got do take it out and film some 4k.
How do ya make the mic work cuz every time I plug it in my phone, the audio cut out 🤔

Awesome! It's a pretty cool setup. Thanks for checking out the vid.
This is a perfect Mobile Vlogging Kit, got it about a week ago, shot an unboxing video on it.
Awesome! Checking it at now.

That’s quite a big rig for a small rig, lol.
Looks damn cool tho!

The Allen keys are at bottom of each handle
Well I feel dumb haha. I had no idea that after all that time. Thanks for sharing!
Damn that seems awesome! Was very surprised on the price. Expected it to be more
Yeah it's actually pretty good deal for the kit. Quality is really good and I was surprised on the weight of this thing.
Thx for the review. Is there a remote record/stop button or function on the rig? Or do you still have to screen press to start the video record?

Nice review, this is something that I would probably use since I use my phone to record.
Thanks Erich! Yeah this kit is awesome. I'm gonna use it on those days were I don't want to lug my cam out.

It does not come with a battery bank.

Thanks Shawn! I'll have to bring this out next time we play.
Will S22 ultra be compatible with it?
Yes, it should fit just fine. I have an Xperia 1 III and its as long the S22. Plenty of space to fit a wider phone like the S22.
