Honestly Toby is a better song maker than a game designer. He knows how to make music that fits a scene. Just listening to this with no context I can tell what it's for. Facing off against a powerful evil foe. Someone far above anything we've seen so far. It's the final battle, and it's almost impossible. it's such an uphill climb it feels like I'm falling the whole time, but it's not impossible. Even if we do win, thought, it will be by the skin of our teeth. We cannot slow down or faulter for a second.

Toby is in for a shock. This piece he has written is a fitting boss theme, not for Chara, but for Cynder. Weirder yet, for her TRUE form, not corrupted/controlled by Malefor.

How did this song from an earthbound fan album become associated with Chara from Undertale?
@SilverStar 223 I can’t tell if you’re trolling or not. If not, the whole fan album was not made by Toby, just this song which he submitted for it. Undertale came out in 2015. The earthbound Halloween hack came out in 2008. The earthbound fan album megalo strike back is from came out in 2012.

Now, I know a lot of people will probably rage at me for this, but I've always associated Megalo Strike Back with Undertale, just because people keep calling it 'Chara's Theme'. I know it's not, I know it's from or meant to be in Earthbound, but it's made by Toby Fox, and when I hear or see 'Toby Fox' my first thoughts are always about Undertale, not Earthbound, simply because I've fallen into a hole labelled ' Undertale Fandom', and I will never be able to climb out of this hole shaped obsession like I've managed to do with my previous obsessions.

It's not undertale, not earthbound, and not the halloween hack, it's a custom album based on earthbound that toby fox made this song for.
