Deputy Sheriff Blane Lane law enforcement honors

On October 4, 2022, our agency suffered the tragic loss of 21-year-old Deputy Sheriff Blane Lane, who died in the line of duty while serving a felony arrest warrant in Polk City.
On October 11, 2022, Sheriff Judd & men and women of the Polk County Sheriff's Office, along with Governor Ron DeSantis, Attorney General Ashley Moody, other elected officials, Polk Fire Rescue, every law enforcement agency in the county, and law enforcement officers and people from across the state of Florida, honored Deputy Lane's sacrifice after his memorial service at Victory Church in Lakeland with full law enforcement honors.
